Maps with a complete road layout which works?
Does anyone know of any maps that have a complete road layout that's either fully done or that has space to expand upon which works? Most maps that have roads doesn't start or there's error messages preventing me from playing.

I am aware that it's fun to build everything yourself, but I seriously have no clue how to break the thinking of grids and where things should be placed as far as roads go. So if anyone has any maps please link them, I am not looking to subscribe to tons of items to run it so the less mods the better.

Cheers

I guess you have to search for savegames then....

I stated that I was looking for map that works and that the ones I have checked don't work or gets me error messages. I don't see why you would tell me to keep searching when I've done exactly that, strange.

Yeah, do you read what mods and assets are needed for the savegame?

And for me a map (only the needed outsideconnections) is a different thing than a savegame (with an existing city or roadnetwork)

I have one savegame but it's heavy modded

Just look at at real maps of cities. It will give you a good impression how road networks operate.

I do read the descriptions and required items for each mod//map before I hit the subscribe button. But unfortunately I still get error messages and most other do as well if you look in the comment field for the maps.

I could search and search for maps, but there's over 30.000 maps and the chances of finding maps that work is bigger by asking around here than to do it myself.

I've spent a lot of hours looking at road networks from around the world, but once I try to build it myself it just doesn't do me well. I get very stressed when I can't get a perfect 4x4 zoned area. Therefore my reason for doing a grid, also I don't use rico or move-it for buildings so I rely on the games way of zoning.

Plus it's way easier to play that way, but I do wanna change the way of how I build cities because a New York styled grid is very boring..

So correct me if l´m wrong
You want a working save game , no grid , to have a look how it works ?
What DLCs do you have and what system do you use ?

I want a map, but I suppose most maps with a complete road network in place is probably going to be converted from a savegame.

I wanna build and rebuild a city on a finished road network to learn to adapt to a gridless pattern. Makes no sense I suppose, but everytime I start a new city I always do a New York styled grid, which is a shame cause there's always gonna be the same thing..

I have everything except for the radio stations and the Concerts DLC.

How much RAM ?
l could offer a working save you could study . Then you could do changes and look what will happen or whatever you want . The idea of dezoning all and shut off the service buildings to rebuild it is a good one , but even it is my city l´m not sure to master this challenge .

It will miss the concert stuff but should work

I have 32GB of ram, very excessive but I wanted 4 sticks so that's what I had to go for...

I will look into that one, thanks :)

I appreciate the thought but what I meant was that I wanted a map with every road complete already. So basically just a 'fill it yourself map'. I wanna break my comfort zone of building in grids by analyzing and playing on a gridless map :)

Okay. This oké

Here's a map of my home town I created. It has the main 'parkways' laid out. All the rest is yet to be built, which I know is not quite what you are after. But it does have the main local roads marked on the map by trees. So you can use them as guides on where to place local roads which should help you avoid grids.

You can also check out the real map if you do decide to play the map:

NOTE: The map will require the Mass Transit DLC.
