Rico revisited
this is the mod in question https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2016920607
For some reason while loading my game, it stopped working, i lost 47,000 residents because they lived in said rico buildings. Any idea as to why?

Have the buildings reverted to their normal type (usually unique buildings)? Or have the numbers just changed? Did you just recently switch from the original RICO to this one? Any other mods you added lately or which updated?

If you have the Painter mod by TPB, unsubscribe. There is a new updated mod, which is linked on the Painter mod page.

Unsubscribe from this:

Don't put your all building in 'Global Settings' (global into this file: LocalRICOSettings.xml)

And use each single "PloppableRICODefinition.xml" in your building folder.

You can take building name by check add to local, and find name from LocalRICOSettings.xml, then delete from local this building, and create a "PloppableRICODefinition.xml". Then when you finished add all building, exit game and restart, you will see them.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Format of "PloppableRICODefinition.xml", for example:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<PloppableRICODefinition>
<Buildings>
<Building name="1311258950.Mcdonald's _Data" service="commercial" density="0" sub-service="low" construction-cost="0" ui-category="comlow" homes="20" steam-id="" level="1" workplaces="12,3,3,2" growable="false" ignore-reality="true"></Building>
</Buildings>
</PloppableRICODefinition>

Again, the problem is the Painter mod. Have a look through the comments on the mod page.

I had the exact same issue. Followed the advice of others - unsubscribe from TPB Painter mod and then subscribe to new version (if you still want to use it). Loaded the city again and all good.
