How can I play Cities Skylines without Paradox
I tried to start up Cities today and I was presented with a Paradox Login - I tried to login - cannot. Found an e-mail from last year saying they have deactivated my account for inactivity. I can't reset my password. It tried to create a new account - it says unable to create account.

Any Idea???

Do I just have to quit playing Cities Skylines and leave here???

Create account with a different email, or email customer service.

You don't need a Paradox account to play CS?

You should be able to play without one. I never made a Paradox account and blocked the launcher in my firewall, but I'm not sure how much good that does.

For the first time in years - when I clicked on Cities - I got a new screen that required me to sign into paradox - I don't know why.

Anyway - I created a new account, but I also had to create a new e-mail address to give them. I'm back in.

Thanks for the responses!!!

Did you find an answer for the problem you have? Because I have the same!

Yes - Sort of. I just created a new Paradox account. But you have to create it with a different e-mail address then the old account or it won't work. Then I was able to sign into Cities Skylines and was able to use my current steam user name to sync them up. So far everything seems to be working just fine.

This makes me think it's only an issue for people who already have a Paradox account.

Never had one, and never had this problem so...

I just installed the game for the first time two days ago and when it asked to create a Paradox account I clicked on skip. If something doesn't need an online account to start the program, I don't use one. My Windows also runs on local accounts despite me having a MSN account that I use for emails and nothing else.

If you want to get rid of the launcher

Easiest (and safest) method is Not Paradox Launcher

I had the same issue, just now.
I simply closed the game, restarted it from the Steam app directly, and pressed skip in the upper right corner before it even ask me to login. I have then restarted the game, it didn't asked me to login again.

You don't need to log in with your Paradox Account to play Cities: Skylines. Logging in lets you use the Paradox Plaza in game, but it's completely optional.
