Always Show Grid Lines??
I need help! I'm one of those perfectionists that likes everything symmetrical and I spend a lot of time precision engineering stuff. So far, the game only gives me a grid roughly 4 units away from the nearest road and this forces me to draw extra guide roads which isn't perfect and wastes a lot of time. Does anyone know of a way to enable the grid lines to be visible from a larger radius? Or better yet, toggle the whole/most of the map like back in the Sim City days? I couldn't find a mod for this. Thanks!

Nope. What you get is all there is. I find it better this way. But I haven't had any major issues with keeping it all aligned. Other than hills throwing it out of alignment. If that it your issue. then you can use the landscaping tool to level it out.

Thing is, I'm trying to create divergent diamonds on top of a freeway that intersects my grid at an angle. I need the ramps within the diamond to curve symmetrically and line up with each other. I created a pre-fabricated divergent diamond in my asset editor but it cannot be placed cleanly on top of the sunken freeway I built, so I have to do this custom.

Just build each curve with the curve tool using the same tick marks and it should be symmetrical.

Maybe use the asset editor if you plan to reuse them.

I am a perfectionist too, but I have countered your argument psychologically:
If you want better curves on your DDI, you'll need to use Move It! which means your roads won't be exactly perfect anyway, so it's easier to just start with an imperfect road layout and move them into place.

I mean, even if the grid could be extended outward from a roadway by 10 tiles instead of 4, this would help immensely. This has to be a parameter somewhere in the code? Any modders have an idea?

Not sure what you mean by not perfect ? If you have snap-to-grid on then you can get perfect 90 degree angles.
Here's some of my symmetrical creations, using nothing but basegame features:

I find it is extended too far as it is. I have all kinds of issues with misalignment near interchanges and their curved roads forcing the game out of alignment. I find if I disable a bunch of the boxes in the alignment, I can get it to ignore some alignment of roads, but expending it further would be disastrous, as it would try aligning road that are half way across one tile and a gazillion alignment marker from all directions at once.

Edit:
Maybe try this mod. It will lay more than one road a time at once and in alignment:

I already have the Parallel Road Tool, which is how I made the sunken freeway with quays. That mod is a godsend and saves me a lot of time.

This is the divergent diamond I am working on. The game's grids just don't extend out far enough for me to draw accurate congruent identical ovals, because a road isn't near them. Additionally, things are messed up due to slight elevation changes in the land. It is a pain to two-lane draw guide roads to extend the grid because they often get in the way and cause bizarre alignments (with the game thinking I want to line up with something else) when I later try to draw the highways.

Highways do not create grids so I always have to use something else and it is a hassle. It would be so much easier to simply have a grid that could extend out across a divide (the sunken freeway) at the same elevation, so I could count and draw everything perfectly.

Now, normally I use this pre-fab I created, but there is no way to get it to correctly lay across the sunken freeway, even with Road Anarchy....

The Move it mod has a button that turns on the road side grids with out having to place anything. it is near the tunnel button

Sweet, I'm gonna look into this! If you happen to have a screenshot of where to go, please post.

I'm pretty sure it's impossible. Fine Road Tools has a button to toggle the grid in the intersection editor, but it's not there in normal games, and I bet they would have had it if they could.

Definitely just make and use prefabs. You can use NoPillars if you need more space.
