How tunnel through mountains with roads or rail???
I can get my tracks to make small tunnels sometimes (on a small, sharp hill), but what I want to do is tunnel through hills and small mountains. I've seen it on downloaded maps, so I know it can be done, but I must be missing something here? All suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

Most often it’ll do it automatically, if not then use page up/down to raise/lower elevation of the road/tunnel you want to make. Works the same with rails too.

Same as for bridges, I prefer to plot my tunnels first and then link them up to the surface at either end afterwards, rather than dragging an existing track through.
Just use pg down to bring your rail/road/pedestrian path to below ground level. Draw it out and then link to the surface with pg up.

As mentioned above, use the PgDn to adjust the road elevation. When I built this the mountain was there already (obviously) and then it was a case of making the road inside the mountain just continue on the same level, which meant lots of PgDn's !! Just build a short length as it's easier to control that way.

This one I made a couple of days ago, and was a lot trickier. Again, the train track is all on the same level inside and outside the land. But it took a few tries to get it right. I started building from the water and drew the bridge so it was just touching the land at the height I wanted. Then as a separate step built the track into the land, again using PgDn to make it level with the bridge part.

Ok, I understand. I'll try the PgUP/PgDn. Thanks!!!

I was able to do it with a little finessing with the elevation changes and it just worked. Straight through
