Invert X and Y axis?
I'm seeing a lot of mention of updated controller support (hidden amongst all of the "no achievement" whiners :steamdeadpan:) here in the Discussion, but can someone tell me if the Axis Controls can be inverted? That was the sole reason I never got out of the first mission in this game in previous versions. I just could not get used to the forced "backwards" (for me) controls.

Yes
So glad the game finally has a feature most games already had 20 years ago LMAO

Pretty sure BG&E always had an "invert camera" option, but when you select it, it inverts X and Y. Not very helpful if you usually only invert Y. Anybody know if this version of the game lets you invert X and Y independently from each other, or is it still just an "invert camera" option that inverts both X and Y?

There are four camera modes: Jade, Hovercraft, Spaceship, and Photo Mode. Each one has its own independent X and Y settings.

Aha, that's right SQWERT. Now I remember. I COULD invert Y, but it also inverted the horizontal. I couldn't even walk down the damn stairs with the X inverted. heh. So glad they fixed that. I may give this classic a go then. Thanks, Paul.
It's funny because my brain swapped over time and this game back in the day was one of the games that made me realize that. I went through a long period where, for whatever reason, I had to play with aim inversion. I think maybe from playing a lot of flight games and "pulling up" by pushing down analog. Anyway, this carried over into everything, FPSes, games like this one, etc. And the way it used to invert both X and Y as something that drove me crazy.

Then one day, at complete random apparently, I woke up and found that I could only play games with aim not inverted. Maybe because I had gotten used to mouselook in games on PC more by then, so my brain was neuroplastically becoming accustomed to up = up lol. I to this day have no idea how or why that happened, but it meant I could comfortably play this as well so I was happy lol. It's funny how stuff like that occurs.

That experience, though, is why I always advocate for inversion options. You never know what someone's "normal" is.

To me, "normal" is using a controller like my head and neck works. When I push my head forward, I see the ground. When I pull my head back, I see the sky. It's not "up and down" for me, it is "forward and back". That is the only way I can process it.

I don't invert when using mouse/keyboard though, because moving the mouse forward has always moved the cursor to the top of the screen. I just plain suck at M/K due to trying to move fluidly with the WASD keys. Just can't do it.

Same for me. Y axis in any game gotta be reversed for me. Unplayable otherwise. I'm so happy this version allows it.
