Capcom - give us answer about missing lighting effects!
Capcom, stop ignoring questions about lighting effects thats missing.

Will they be fixed with release or at least soon after release with patch?

Just loot at this comparision of Wii version and not so Ultimate PC (dont pay attetion to modded textures, look at lighting on Leon face):

http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/61506/picture:1

And look at this chart:
http://www.crisdecuba.com/images/re4chart3.jpg

Lighting in Ultimate PC version is surely aproximated and simplified comparing to GC\Wii version.

WILL IT BE FIXED OR NOT?

CAPCOM, give us answer, stop acting bad, start cominacate with us not only when it comes to easy questions. This game not released yet, but already has notticable issues, ignoring them and our questions will not make your Company bigger sales, instead they will lower the number, but if you will come out of shadow, will tell us

"Yes guys, we have some issues, sorry, but dont worry, we will fix them with patch soon after release, and will work hard to bring you back all missing effects"

then you will have bigger sales!

And please, dont tell me that coding those effects back and testing them will cost you a lot, Capcom can save on beta testing using us - steam users and better testers, by BETA option (you know, that tab availalbe for every game on Steam where you can opt in beta release and return back to stable one?). and we will help you to test patch for free before release, so the only cost would be post release support programming cost, and that pretty cheap and you will get more sales if you will start to openly comunicate with us - customers!

Thank you and please, stop ignoring this question, this only ruins company reputation!

Too optimistic for Capcom..

Voodooman is an expert on this stuff so Capcom should listen.

Unfortunetely the PC version is ported from the 360 version which is where the problem seems to have been.

That's the company that did the port of RE4 HD, a different developer is doing Ultimate HD version I'm sure.

Why are people still posting about this? They're not going to 'fix' anything.

What system does the Dolphin symbol represent in that comparison chart?

The GameCube emulator.
DedZedNub Feb 13, 2014 @ 11:25am
illgib, so that must run on the pc and emulate the GameCube console, does it require the actual game disks or catridges from GameCube (sorry never had one so unfamiliar) or does it take other input like CD images or ROM cartridge images (like Intellivision images on Intellivision emulator years ago)?

Dolphin plays gamecube/wii titles in ISO/GCM file types

This vidoe of RE 4 wii on dolphin clearly demonstrates that there's no difference in lighting between wii and UHDE, exept for a little specular effect on Leon's jacket.

Not sure if that was sarcasm or you actually aware that i was that Voodooman who among other guys such as St. Vampire, Albert, Arsunt, Mariokart_64 etc started discovering formats and modding scene of RE 4 PC back in 2007, and also fixed lot of crap left by Capcom\Sourcenext, and made High Res menues mod by Albert possible, when he already gave up trying to make it, and you probably should be aware of my fixed RE4 european exe (here some remains i found http://old.residentevil.org/games/resident-evil-4/mods/resources/voodooman-no-cd-game-exe-optimized cant find my original 2007 year's release thread anymore) . Also i made patches for official russian ND releases of RE4, because capcom official patches was not even compatible with russian release, and these patches actually helped me to get job in ND games as gamedev, so yeah, im a freaking RE4 expert who tired of fixing Capcom's mess since 2007 year, and they should listen to me :rshocked: but actually, if you have not notticed, in this thread i want to listen Capcom's answer, as well as many thousands of dissapointed people want to listen this answer too.

Senselessly.
Perhaps only after release the game wave of discontent and negative reviews will affect the situation. PC gamers will not be as passive as console gamers. It remains to wait.
Reach Capcom is now difficult. Days earlier I had written them an email. http://pastie.org/pastes/8730809/text?key=xrijyonhssd8bcroylixsa
I have not received meaningful response.
I think they know about it (and all this they read), but they have no explicit plans to fix it.
Just get over it and do not buy a bad port if it doesn't suit you.

If you are a such an expert then give us a proper comparison shots deeply analysing that there's a difference between the ways lighting is calculated in wii and UHDE.

Oh, voodooman from that Invizionfree RE4 modding forum? nice,

And yeah, i hope the effects missing "appear" on the release with the post proccesing or any other visual option in a future patch, if not, well.... at least it will be fun to try a better version than the one from 2007....
TheDaniel Feb 13, 2014 @ 12:46pm
Very simple man wait until the release of the game and also checks the absence of the highlights. on the other hand are not sponsoring the game with the maximum level of detail, there are two graphics options are turned off as the postprocess is an option that substantially improves the level of detail in highlights and overall the game, so much as stop silly comparisons that even with the absence of the alleged lighting reflecting on the Wii version, the Ultimate HD is still better ..
