Despite all it's flaws it's a fantastic game and I adore it.
You know its 2018 and there are still parts of the world that don't live in brick houses right?
On the other hand, even I hear that the accent is very Mexican and not European Spanish, so it may not really sit well with them.
The castle and village are supposed to be hundreds of years old. Salazar's family goes way back. At least that's what I remember from a few of the journals and papers you can read in the game
Also, in the Separate Ways opening cutscene a world map shows Spain as the target where Wesker places the satellite from his control room.
They're pretty though people, especially after those Franco glamour years.
