Hello Boner, your problem is actually not your fault at all. Resident Evil 4 was never intended to run at 60 fps. There are two points in the game where the framrate desynchs with the QTE and makes it literally impossible to do. The first is at the minecart section while the second is the part you are at now. To get past it, all you have to do is switch the game to 30 fps until you pass it. Hope this helps

Not impossible, you just need around 10 press/second speed. Most any speedrunners do it without any significant issues. (Stair skating in RE1 needs even faster mashing, so for RE speedruns, 60 fps statue isn't even that high tier.) On keyboard, you can also mash Enter along with X for faster inputs, as both keys work.

I actually did not know this. I cannot press the buttons that quick sadly. 30 fps ensures you don't have to mash it as frantically as 10 press/second.

Thanks for the feedback, from both of you, i will try both methodes setting it to 30fps and smash x and enter together.

Mostly im glad to hear there is more i can do as just smash the buttons ridiculous fast.

Yes, 30 fps will always work. The timing here is just an oversight, they did not re-time it for 60 fps. (60 fps here is not just a frame lock, you are actually switching out the entire game engine, including every animation. This is why the game really feels totally different on 60 fps, because technically, it really is a different game.)

Ok, finally did it, the part is so ridiculous easy after setting the FPS to 30...

Thanks a lot for the help !

I had the same problem with most of the button mash qtes (bridge mash, krauser stab mash and stick waggle while on the container boss) when on my xbox pad. It's like sometimes the game doesn't recognize the inputs anymore.
Horrible experience when compared to the times I played it on PS2 and Gamecube.

QTEs probably killed more people in this game than actual battles ever did :). The Wii version was better in that regard because wiggling the wiimote was easier than button/stick mashing.

Used Xpadder. I play with joystick. Binded for example LS on press do all buttons, that need on QTE at once - means you press LS (as for me) and Xpadder (as i putted bind into him) press 4 buttons - left mouse , right mouse , "X" , and "C" at once. This solve any my problems with QTE , cause i tired of it. Game is great but there is some grate reason of people hated QTE.

Now , if see some QTE , it dnt make me angry, i just press LS and do this QTE like EZ.

Other problem is QTE, which show's you press X, but not a button, and this is confuse. If play with mouse to release from grab attack game show you move mouse left and right quickly. And this is also annoying. As for me my solution was in XPadder on RS (right stick) button bind fast moving mouse left and right with daley 0.1 s and option Turbo 0.2 delay - works perfect

Those boulder QTEs were certainly a handfull back on the ps2 version.

The Wii Edition is perhaps the most fun version of the game because of how precise you can be with your aiming whatwith the laser targetting being replaced with a crosshair. However, that also makes it the easiest version of the game because of the same reason.
Lanzagranadas Aug 20, 2017 @ 11:36pm
Yeah, indeed it was easier.

Well, I can't seem to find the proper way to play the game yet. Aiming with the mouse is pretty uncomfortable but the keyboard feels better for the damn mashing QTE sections. No big deal during my Normal playthrough as I just rushed to quickly unlock Pro, but I guess I'll have to find a way to play through Professional.
