It's not impossible you just have to reach 250 bpm with the key/pad xD

Yep. I encountered it a couple days ago when I went through there. Luckily I had seen it mentioned on these boards before that, otherwise I might be wondering what was going on. People talk about turning down the framerate to 30 and stuff. pshh...I laugh at them. Just had to break out the old twitch skills on the button. Also allows you to kill El Gigante's parasite in two attacks.

Who knew that playing Track & Field on the Nintendo back in the day would actually come in handy...
Impossible? Nope. It's how QTEs should be, fast and brutal and not giving you 15 seconds to press a button in order to advance. it can be frustrating, but I find it immensely satisfying to succeed.

And we live in a world where Dark souls sells by truckloads, plus you can always mash the button before the prompt, if I'm not wrong, it's also working.

Funny enough the first time I did the minecart section on this version I was actually surprised when I failed it the first time, so my thought was "Wow, guess I didn't do it fast enough" and then the next time I got it, and I see posts about it and I'm like...uh did you try hitting the button faster?

I've read about changing the fps cap to 30 instead of 60 but was too lazy to change it. Took me three tries to get it right and when I did, I just spammed the button to hell. Sure, it was tough, but it's not impossible.

ive just never quite been good at QTEs, my mashing ability is somewhat limited

Same experience for me right down to the number of tries, difficult but not impossible.

You can only change your FPS at the main menu.

To answer the OP, you can skip the minecart at 60 fps using the ditman glitch, though I'm unfamiliar with this QTE glitch you're speaking of. I'm able to get past all QTE's by spamming all four buttons and it works just fine.

You were probably pushing the buttons quick enough to begin with so of course you wouldn't notice it. The issue with it is throughout the entire game during any sequence that requires the rapid button presses, you can push it at a reasonably normal speed and succeed with no problems. But that one scene requires a lot faster for whatever reason. So it's confusing to a person that pushing the button at a normal pace has worked at any other time but it doesn't work at that one scene.

To be honest I have not legitimately done the mine cart on the Steam version to my knowledge; I've only been doing speed runs and explicitly skip the mine cart altogether. That's a strange bug.

Huh, how can you even skip this section? I always thought it's the only way out of the map?

Anyway, I'm positive that the bug is not equally severe on all systems. That's why some get around it easier by mashing the buttons fast (or early) and others - try as they might - can't without resetting to 30fps for this section (as someone noted: only in the main menue).

This video makes more sense than me, you need the Striker to do the Ditman glitch. You must be on 60 FPS to do the minecart skip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYz71xJnAHw

Use the Ditman glitch with the striker (equip striker, aim and immediately open inventory and equip another weapon), equip a gun that slows your movement speed (anything that's not a rocket launcher or grenade), approach the mine cart at the right side. As you are jumping down hold forward and left and run, and you go under the cart and out of bounds. Loop around to the start, then run towards the two barrels and past it, run out of the world, then snap back into the world on the cart path. Then just run through the rest of the path, you will walk in the air instead of needing to do the QTE.
