Imagine going to a nice restaurant and ordering expensive food. Then it takes 10 hours for the cooks to make it. Then when they serve it to you it's cold and has a hair in it.

Last time I checked this is a digital video game. You're not eating it. It's not required that you play it RIGHT NOW. I bet you'd put a negative review on a traffic light because its 4 seconds longer than usual.
No, you got it wrong. They give positive review while waiting in the loading screen for hours trying to play.

It's called an analogy.

Imagine buying this game KNOWING the potentials and review bombing it. Losers.
Do I look like a prophet?

Imagine having 4 years to plan to avoid a repeat of the last disaster only to make it happen again even worse.

Imagine going into work at ASOBO today.

Overwhelmingly Negative

They deserve every down vote.
True, game still unplayable.
At first I jokingly gave a positive review (which of course wasn't really a review, since I couldn't play a single second) after 4 hours, the fun ran out, changed to a negative and got refunded, so in a way I can see how it is possible to leave positive review, but I certainly understand the negative ones :)

I wouldn't be surprised in fact, that 70% or so of the current positive review are jokes anyway, so this could be an under 10% actual score in reality (not saying as a game it deserve it, I couldn't say, again not played a single second, but the delivery was worth every negative score it got)

Imagine going to a theatre to watch a movie on release night. You get popcorn, it's date night with the missus. You go in and sit down in your seat and the previews just keep playing for 17 hours. The theatre manager comes in and says "sorry everyone the production company is having technical issues and cannot stream us the movie because too many theatres are trying to stream it at the same time and the production companies servers went down." Is that your fault? They deserve the down vote and whoever was responsible for the launch and its subsequent architecture should be canned. Full stop.
As someone that works in IT, I can fully understand both the frustration as well as the hype. It suck when you roll something out to find out it either barely works or doesn't work at all. Should MS have known better that the demand was going to strain their servers, probably. But the only way to avoid that is to WAY over budget your back end. It is easier to ramp up when you find bottlenecks than it is to ramp down.
I have not left a review yet as I will probably give it a few weeks for everything to shake out out. Sort of - benefit of the doubt thing here. I have played flight sims since around the Flight Sim 3.0, maybe 4.0 era and historically speaking, MSFS has never been perfect out of the box. However, since the early 2000s, it has been the community that comes in over the top to give MSFS all of the extras. As long as MSFS can come out with a platform that allows community modifications, I think they will continue to lead the market in flight sims. I know a lot of people will say - why isn't such and such (name any community mod here from weather to additional planes) in the game. Simple answer - MS and Asobo can't do it all. Their team isn't big enough and timelines as a company wouldn't allow infinite development.

Sorry to those that feel like they didn't get what they paid for and I really hope you give the studio and community a chance.
Sorry to those life long simmers that thought this game or MSFS2020 was going to be perfect in every way. It's just not possible.

I don't think anyone here expected perfect in every way. Most probably expected perfect in no way. But it would be nice if it actually ran. 6 hours in game time according to Steam. What that time is actually a bunch of waiting and 3 flight that crashed to desktop within 2 minutes. I have owned all MS flight sims since the 1st one in the early eighties. Always been a big fan, In 2020, I would agree to most of what you said, but to change nothing and expect 2024 would be fine is a level of stupidity that most adolescents would be able to figure out.
First the server issues yesterday. Now I'm in the game... so many CTD's. And VR is really not optimised (at least my me, heard others have a good experience. I'll change my negative review to a positive once things are straightened out.

Imagine putting a negative review because you’re impatient. Go get some fresh air.
Delivering a non-functional product at launch is on the developer, not the customer.

Haha, I know French culture. They couldn't care less if paychecks keep coming on time end of the month.
