Yesterday we hosted a Developer Livestream on our official Twitch channel. We know it’s been a few months longer than you (and us!) would like since the last Developer Livestream, so we were really thrilled to have our regular panel of Jorg, Seb, and Martial once again provide an update on the latest improvements coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator while also answering many questions from the community, both those pre-submitted before the broadcast and some taken live from viewers in Twitch chat.

In other news, PlayStation 5 simmers can now join the ongoing Sim Update 5 public beta test! If you’re a PS5 user who would like to join the public test and help the team by identifying bugs and other issues in SU5, you can find instructions on how to enroll in the beta here[forums.flightsimulator.com].

Finally, Jorg announced during yesterday’s broadcast that we are targeting next week (April 20-24) for the final full release of Sim Update 5! Please note that this release window is a target and is not yet 100% confirmed. Jorg stated there are a small number of “must fix” bugs remaining that the team has to resolve before we can ship SU5.

Our next Developer Livestream now has a scheduled date! Join the regular panel of Jorg, Seb, and Martial plus special guests on Wednesday, April 15 at 10:30am Pacific time (1730 UTC) for a discussion about future development of MSFS and answers to many questions from the community. Thank you to everyone who pre-submitted questions over the past few weeks; we are currently collating all your submissions and preparing responses to the most frequently asked questions. Also, if you missed the opportunity to submit a question in advance, you can still ask a question to the panel live during the broadcast via Twitch chat. Be sure to follow our official Twitch channel[twitch.tv] if you’re not already so you’ll receive a notification when the broadcast starts.

The dev team remains hard at work on Sim Update 5 with a release target planned for later this month. As always, we caution that this is a target only and not a locked-in promise. We will not launch SU5 until we are confident it is in a great state and will be well-received by simmers on all platforms. SU5 will include hundreds of bug fixes and other improvements and also introduce the highly-anticipated PSVR2 feature for Sony PlayStation 5 users.

Public beta testing for SU5 remains ongoing with Monday’s release of the 1.7.17.0 test build.
