Don't know what happens if internet goes down after you're playing though.
There seems to be a local (non-rolling) cache, but I imagine it would need to be massive to hold a reasonably sized area in decent quality. Not played with it but suspect it could have issues in practical use. And still trying to work out how the aircraft are streamed or stored locally.
Have both sims and comparing flying around St. Petersburg, AK in the default C172, it seems for me that MSFS2024 is a few frames slower while some of the area looks better and some looks just the same. Not a vast improvement for me.
Trees look better and more detailed. Lighting is better.
They had better not limit FS2020 after that 10 years of support bull crap.
It felt really nice to go back to MSFS 2020 and play it. While the trees may not look at good it was just a much better overall experience.
Unlikely to move over to 2024 for at least 6 monthsm if even then.
And what are the 'Rented' planes in the menus?
