The Yule cat, the despair of Christmas

I don't know if there is an issue related to the Christmas event or if some players are inheriting a lower percentage of Yule cat spawns in their session but I can say with certainty that there are issues that happens and other players are surely in the same situation knowing that in addition, not everyone is equipped or prepared to hunt these deceitful cats

So, to explain the situation, over 5 days of research carrying out only one session to kill or spot as many Lynx as possible to find the Yule cat, I have not even found one yet, not even a female and that, for a total of 43 lynx killed or spotted over the 5 days I focused on this species to find one

Meanwhile, some find 2 in the same session or 1 every 2-3 days on 2-3 specimens killed, it is simply abused, incomprehensible and FU.CKING PAINFUL.

The idea of making a rare model of a difficult-to-hunt species for the Christmas event is already BULLSH.IT. Now, if the Yule cat spawns are also different compared to certain players (bug or intended), that's more BULLSH.IT knowing that not everyone will have the chance to have one at the end of the event, which is horrible because it simply disgusts you of the Christmas event, which proves that the problem of the rarity of the animal is a SH.ITTY idea which dirties the idea of Christmas.

For my part, it's clearly the worst event I've played while I enjoy the challenge on the event missions (especially the summer fiesta: hard missions). Now, on Christmas, NO. There are limits that must not be crossed for the Christmas.

Especially the ideas that end up disgusting you of the party and the animal (knowing that personally, I like to chase them)

Ever since this event started I pretty much spent all my time in Hemmeldal, havent kept track of the number of Lynx I spotted or harvested, even though I have called them in every chance I get, but I have not seen the Yule cat either.

I did see only one. It came when I was already shooting another Lynx that was approaching caller and I noticed it after shooting another one with bow when it fled. I don't know if they come slower to caller than normal ones. If they are bigger, it could be.

Here's what could have been done to avoid disgusting players who have to spam Hemmeldal to get a simple specimen.

- Make it uncommon but clearly not rare.
- Add a specific cry to recognize him by making him cry more often than the others (less discreet).
- Make him aggressive so it can attack the player (it stalks you and if you don't wear Christmas clothes, it kills you).
- It could have been insensitive to e caller and urine so that players would have to approach to attract him with the jack rabbits caller (more players own jack rabbits)
- It would have had the 3 colors of this year's Christmas t-shirts (3 variants to collect).

With only a few more points, we would have been entitled to something less sloppy to release it quickly before Christmas so that as many players as possible could play it. Which in itself is a good intention but the rush of the Yule cat means that it is a failure for those who invest themselves to the point of being disgusted to find just one.

I'm starting to think it's bugged, I've spent too much time in finding one already. same as you, I think could be closer to 50 lynx now and not a single yule cat.

And yet, some people found at least 1 without the slightest effort from the first day because some have more luck than others because the system is simply balanced by idiots who had the idea of putting a random spawn to a model which is even more rare.

If the chances of spawning increased relative to the time left with the event, it would have been acceptable but nothing.

There are 2 days left, I have not yet found a single one while I have spent my time since the 3rd day of the event focusing on finding just one but without success.

Is this normal for a model that will disappear before the end of the event to return next year? NO.

I started exterminating all the lynx I found while spending 8+ hours on the sessions and now I have just enough motivation left to search the crater and restart

Only some players have the possibility of finding one with minimal effort or at spawn and others have to spend days and days to find 1 or not find a single one like me.

This event is to vomit. This is the worst I've seen in over 1 year of playing

If I roughly total my hours and my kills (FOR MOMENT) when I focused mainly on the Yule cat, I arrive at:

Approximate 47 hours of research for the Yule cat for a total of
- 34 males killed (+ 3 spot)
- 26 females killed (8 spot + 2 no claim)

The first sessions, I spent a lot of time finding as many lynx as possible (my live replays are proof) but since they are not automatically present in the session and my version does not seem to be the same compared to the other players who manage to find several in the same session, I simply wasted my time to find only small or medium ones (not a single one of + 10, 6 score, WTF ???).

On the other hand, I found a female menalistic (3 days ago). It is obviously logical to find a rare one but not the one that is supposed to be less rare. In any case, it would be LOGICAL for it to be less rare knowing that it will soon disappear compared to melanistic.

I've had solid luck with them. Some do well with Rudolphs, some are lucky with Yule cats, whole game is rng, and ya never know how it's going to roll.

Might host if you want to try on my server- if I spot one, it's yours. Same with anyone else who wants to give it a last minute try.

Have some tents in cat territory, and other locations if anyone reads this and needs mission objectives complete instead. Been doing it all week, helping other hunters unlock mission rewards and qualify for community, letting others kill/harvest any yulies I find so they get to put one in their lodge, etc. Spirit of the holidays, and all that.

I have already personally been offered to go on servers but it is difficult to organize and it should not be the solution. It's them to get off their ass and increase the spawn rate so that everyone gets their Christmas present in the shape of a cat to avoid waiting until next year. Especially for those who take a lot of time to find one (not everyone likes lynx hunting and that's understandable).

Personally, I like it but tthey will manage to disgust me after so much research.

And you can have well-placed tents to kill a lot of them, all the necessary equipment and money for teleportation kits, when the game doesn't want to give you any after several days of constant research, that's because there is a problem (like the map with its disappearing traces and these many storms sometimes too constant).

My interest is to find one and be surprised to see that it's the right one without anyone finding it for me. This should be the event and not find an alternative to their incompetence or their talent for disgusting the players of the Christmas event

Now, if others don't have the equipment or the motivation to continue to push themselves to find one, having help is clearly the last alternative, yes. It's nice of you to offer

Are you really that worried about this cat? For me personally it's just a silly reskin, I wouldn't even place it in my lodge. Besides, as you said yourself, a lot of people already have one, without putting much effort. So it's not something exclusive or super cool to have..

Personally, I find the skin very beautiful, yes.

I love his dark side with his sweater. And having had a melanistic, I much prefer the christmas version than the melanistic.

So, personally, it's important to me to get one and find it for myself to collect in the lodge, yes. Because, as I said, I love hunting the feline in the game more than the deer and other animals.

So, I find it extremely disgusting and unfair not to be able to find one compared to other players who doesn't like hunting felines and who were able to obtain one thanks to their luck. This event is simply absurd.

It's as if we had created a skin that you like on your favorite animal without being able to recover it compared to others who don't like it and who have it without difficulty

And there you have it, the Christmas event is over.

I hope that a large majority of Yule cat researchers have obtained at least one specimen for this year because it has been a real challenge for some of us.

Luckily, the last day was the right one for me. The first of the session was the right one and as I hoped, it was a male.

It's as if the last day had a last minute change in recovering all the luck not present in one session because just 1 minute before finding the Yule cat, I was able to recover a Reindeer of 624.9447 (totally crazy).

And when I opened the server to help random players for the event missions, it became a party.

- I've found a + 9kg fox directly to help with the event
- A person found a mythical Reindeer ''Rudolph'' with a score of 609 on the server (Pseudo: matyvozenilek If you want to see the screenshot) .
- I recovered a male piebald roe deer with a score of 154 and a common with a score of 230 on the same session that I forgot to make a screenshot because of fatigue.

Clearly, I see it as a Christmas miracle for the suffering I went through to find the famous rare Yule cat and luckily I was able to share my chance with other players

Congrats! Phew, I was worried as if I was the one looking for it, lol :)

My event was ok-ish.. I completed the christmas mission in one hunt, then qualified for 30 reindeer, and only cared about competitions after that. Made it into top10 in two of them, #4 fox and #10 lynx.. Never saw a Yule cat, but it's ok

Was a little bit frustrated in the bear competition. I've set up a barrel for it, usually I don't use feeders, but it worth a try. And it generated a lot of bears, but not a single good one. All giant bears for me turned out around 26 score max, and all tiny bears were 20+. So no good result, but oh well.

PS the biggest christmas miracle for me is that I've managed to save up $gm for a long time and not buy unnecessary things (except bear bait for the event). So I'm at ~48000 currently and will finally get that big lodge.
