He may call you a peck neck but he's a big ol softie on the inside!
except when he tries to stab you (a small kid) with a real knife several times but lets ignore that
Also DJ Groove movies suck.
Like the Conductor has this elaborate murder mystery with many possible different outcomes that happens on his train and later is even willing to set off a bomb that could blow up his prized possession and love (the train) to get some good action shots because he has that sorta confidence in you.
DJ Grooves just kinda has you walk around a city, twice. And he doesn't even let you say peck.
There's a reason Grooves only won a single time at the annual bird awards.
One is willing to go as far as to possibly destroy his livlihood for his art, the other basically tries to just create a hype machine (given, hatkid is a living hype machine)
The final chapter made more sense to me with DJ Grooves.
Conductor is awesome too, and seems to be quite a bit more popular, but I just think DJ Grooves is fantastic, especially his VO and dialogue! So if i *have* to pick just one, I'm going with DJ Grooves everytime!
I like him because he was already losing a lot so he could no doubt use a win, And when he said the conductor cheated his other victories I belive him, After all the first time I saw the conductor he attempted to sabatoge him as soon as he walked out the door.
I also think his justification for holding out on Hat girl at the end with the time piece was far more justified since he just wanted to undo the no doubt cheated victories making him in my opinon a better heel for the end fight.
I'm pretty sure the game also wanted him to win considering how much easier it is to get far more points with him, I'd think if I wanted to make conductor win I would have to intentionally sabatoge DJ grooves. [Which oddliy enough would fit the conductors style quite well which is probably why it is that way.]
That and I liked platforming around DJ's second level quite a bit, Conductors coudlent keep up with me especially at the sawblade bit and just felt awkward, And although Conductors first level is better than DJ's, DJ's first level didnt feel awkward or annoy me.
That and he bailed me out of crippling debt so he did technically pay me unlike Conductor who seems exactly like the kind of guy who wants me to work for exposure.
the conducter had funner acts but DJs acts had better music
also conducter is voiced by the smash bros 4 anncouncer
so thats a plus
However, as a character... Conductor.
If he wins, he goes full madman and fights you so he can get Award 42. If DJ wins, he saves you and shows a different character entirely.
I compared the final fights and felt like it suits DJ a little more.
Conductor's movies and stages were much more fun and exciting. DJ Grooves' stages were very lackluster.
DJ Grooves says that the Conductor cheated every year. But I find it hard to believe that the Conductor cheated for 41 years and won that many times without being caught. Hell, even DJ Grooves says he doesn't have proof that the Conductor cheated. He just simply "knows". Sounds fishy (no pun intended) to me.
Conductor may seem mean, but I think he's just rough and blunt. He knows that his Owls, and yes you, can do amazing work. So he pushes you to that limit, doing whatever it takes. Yes, even strapping a live bomb to his beloved train. There wasn't a doubt in his mind you wouldn't be able to defuse it in time.
