A Hat in Time
Emote Menu
For the love of god, why is the emote menu activated by left stick on a controller. Every time I'm in the middle of a tense moment, it opens the menu and I get hit or fall to my death.

Same here. Whenever I collect a sticker, what's supposed to be the emote button in the description is just listed as '???'
I wonder if it has to do with the type of controller? I'm just using an old Logitech.

Either way, I think mapping emotes to the Select button (or it's equivalent) would be the best. There's nothing bound to it (I think) and it's not something you'll accidentally press, but can still be accessed quickly and easily.

actually select is mapped to the camera button, you know? the camera badge?

I have a work around for this. You swap the L3 Click with Back Button and Back Button to L3 Click using Steam's own controller configuration tool. As for Camera Badge, I'd use the keyboard and mouse for the Camera Badge until it can be patched properly.

Oh lol. I completely forgot, since I never use it. I don't like having to waste a badge slot, and going through the menu and equipping a badge to get a picture, then unequipping it afterward, just doesn't seem worth it to me. I just take screenshots.
But, maybe they could share the button, then? So if the camera badge is equipped, it brings up the camera and if not it brings up the emote menu?

So my PS4 Controller would be recognized as an Xbox 360 Controller, and what you can do is go to the game files and edit the .ini file. I recommend making a copy of the original before doing that and you can change or you can copy the contents of another .ini file into it. I was trying to do the Hat In Time challenge road and it the same controller ended up getting recognized as "Custom controller 1." You can also change the name of the profile from the .ini file. That is one way how you can disable or to try to change the mapping for it. just go to the local files and go into the file for the type of controller your using and there you go.

You can also disable it in the options now.
