A Hat in Time
Can't turn off emotes?
It keeps randomly popping up which messes up my jumping and it's really annoying. I don't see an option to turn it off. Using a Xbox controller.

I believe I have come up with a temporary solution to the L3 Emote Wheel issue

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1737952452

Basically, go to your Controller Configuration option at the Game Library. Go in and remap the L3 button there to the Select Button. Save the configuration, start the game and it should work. Note that the Emote Wheel is completely unusable with this. At least you can now play without the wheel killing you during a jump.
How do people keep hitting this accidentally?

The wheel is tied to the Left Stick and if you push it in it stops any further input

and? Why do people have a death grip on their left stick?

Because the left stick is how you move your character, and sometimes you push it in on accident since it's very sensitive which causes the wheel to pop up

I've never had this accident happen. People are jamming on the stick way too hard.

Good for you, this is still an issue for me and would like for the option to turn it off as it wasn't a problem before this DLC came out.

It's not a problem for normal people.

And you're basing this off of what? Your own ego?

No, just common sense

the alternative option is to go to your steam folder, then go steamapps\common\HatinTime\HatinTimeGame\Config\Gamepads
click on the xbox360.ini (if you are using this one), find the +Bind = Hat_Player_Emote and delete it alongside the line below it

No, just common sense

a common sense here would be to provide help instead of acting like a douchebag
