If you want to find it yourself (which I highly suggest), you should probably beat the game, or unlock the final world before you: Check under the chair in the Subcon Forest room in your ship.

It's pretty interesting, though I have to admit I don't understand what it's supposed to mean.

I took each unique symbol and assigned a letter of the alphabet to it and ran it through one of those online crypto/puzzle solvers. That was the only one that was actually readable, and the rest was either gibberish or broken versions of this one.

The picture at the wall the secret message is placed on are ALL screenshots from scenes from a dev which made videos before hat in time came out to make a little made up background story to the game as an ARG. It was dismissed as not being canon by the other devs but now the screenshots are in the game this might have changed! Either the dev found a way to sneak the message and pictures into the game (with such a small developer team this is possible) or they actually decided to make the game a lot darker than it seems: https://youtu.be/JyjluB-7oBA The decoded messages from the ARG back then told you about the story of timelords fighting each other. And I think one created the timepieces to end the conflict by everyone losing their powers. But the plan failed as the timepieces were broken and scattered time and space and killed the time lords, leaving only the timepieces as a trace of their existence behind. Something like that.

Spooky stuff. I wonder if this helps you guys to decode that attic message further. Wonder if there is more to this. Or if we will have to wait for the two additional worlds to be released in a few months to find satisfactory solutions to this story/riddle.

I can confirm this message and the associated ARG is the work of one of the devs, and is not supported by the rest of the team. It is officially non-canon.

I took the time and decoded all the messages in the videos. (made a post here aswell) It seems like the skulls infront of that message belong the the sun and the moon (the 2 stars). And in the story the sun betrayed the others cause idk... Then they had to get the Sunpiece back and later Hat Kid decided to leave and was told not to use the time pieces for bad stuff cause that's what happened in their (timeline? dimension?)

So in the poem the "souls of his people" probably are those who dies when that one guy used the timepieces, the peaceful garden is a place where one of the characters went (I think the master), the Promise of the Hat is Hat Kids promise not to use the timepieces for evil and the whole ritual of the hands stuff has something to do with her origins or so... I don't know.

i know what the two pillars of fire is if you go to queen vanessa's manor then fly really high there will be two giant pillars if look around one has blue fire and it sits on top of the cave that you need to go though then to the side of it there is a normal fire pillar its just sittting in the void it has the same y position you just have to look around and youll see it also isnt there two candles in the closet one lit blue one normal fire color

I have a theory regarding the videos.
From my understanding, a man called Tempus took on an apprentice named Puella, to teach her the ways of the founders.
Some while later, they encountered a shadow. Tempus took it in and called it Cavus. Somewhile later, Tempus dies (whether killed by Cavus or the founders) and Puella took up the title of Tempus.
The founders told Puella (or lied to her) that Cavus killed the old Tempus, and that Cavus took the sun piece. Cavus got exiled to the void, and his followers got sealed away. Then Puella got killed (probably by the founders).
I might be making this up, but i am certain of one thing. Hat Kid is none of these characters, My first piece of evidence comes from snatcher's contract. When she signs it, there are 8 letters on the signature, and no character in the story, (including the channel's owner Mole Man.)
Also, in the final video, farewell, Hat Kid meets the flame, who i believe is Cavus or his followers. Also, the figure mentions that she looks like its Master, implying that Hat Kid is Puella's daughter. Feel free to contribute to this theory.
P.S. My knowledge of this comes from this guide: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1455138420 . There is a cipher the creator of this guide wasn't able to solve. So go ahead and take a crack at it.
