input bugs
Launched game, and it is unplayable. The menu freaks out as if there is a constant down arrow input.

Even unplugging ALL of my input devices does not stop this behavior. Any ideas?

When I unplugged that AND the Razer keypad it fixed it. And it is still fixed even with the flight stick plugged back in as long as the Razer keypad is unplugged.
If I had to guess it has something to do with things that might be able to count as a joystick. Especially since the Razer device was overriding my xbox controller dpad and joystick inputs as well.
That's what was happening to me, so I just unplugged it while playing it.

This has been my issue. I've even tried disabling my controller and not using it, reinstalling drivers, as well as, restarting and reinstalling the game and it still gives me the same issue.

I don't think i have this vjoy, but maybe I tried installing something a long while ago and never fully removed.

I use a dualsense controller. I've tried with steam input on and off as well. Any help would be appreciated. I may refund until I know I can get it working right and play. I do want to play this game so anything helps lol

I also don't have vjoy and am having this issue.

I have figured out that if I just open the game AND NEVER LEAVE IT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD NEVER TAB OUT then it works fine.

Until I need to tab out. Then I need to restart the game.

That's because of Steam Input. Disable it and use something better.

Use Special K, turn Steam Input off and download DualSense buttons from SK's control panel.

The game doesn't support rumble on your DualSense controller otherwise.

Thanks Kaldaien.

It was a long day and I didn't even consider trying Special K.

Going to try it now. I'll report back.

Special K worked like a charm, as to be expected. Rumble and all. Steam input is just terrible, worse than I thought. Makes things difficult for no reason.

It's been quite awhile since using SK. I like the look of the frontend now and configuring it seems easier than before from my experience.

Thanks again for the help and thanks for always floating around the steam forums to help those in need.

Hopefully they fix this soon.
In addition to everything else stated here about things that cause problems, I can confirm that one of my flight sticks, and old Saitek joystick is also causing issues. So if you are still having issues and have something like that try unplugging those too.

Okay so I found the specific issue with the Razer Tartarus Pro, at least for me. I don't know if this will work for other similar products though but here is what I figured out. The issue with the Tartarus Pro is that it is counted simultaneously as a keyboard device and a controller device. It is the controller device part of that that is/was causing the issue, at least in my case. Luckily these can be disabled separately.

You will need to go into the Device Manager, and open the list for Human Interface Devices. The issue here is that the controller device thing for the Razer Tartarus is not listed under its name. In my case it was listed as a generic HID Compliant Game Controller. Disabled that and now my Tartarus no longer conflicts with this game while still being able to use the device as I normally do with no need to unplug it.

If you have multiple listings of HID Compliant Game Controllers, trial and error to find the right one will be the only option. At least that I know of. And if it isn't listed under that you will need to check the other generic HID Compliant devices, though I don't know why it would be listed under something else for the same type of device.

I can only surmise that the game controller aspect was somehow overriding inputs for this game. No clue as to why when it hasn't been an issue for me for other games. Hopefully this helps someone down the line.

Easier to use Special K and just set Keyboard and Mouse to disabled for the game.

Gets you all kinds of other benefits too, like unlimited framerate, better graphics, arbitrary aspect ratio, better performance. And you don't have to mess with Windows settings.

Was anyone able to find a solution to this? I've tried everything here.
