This does not sound like a Save Data issue as the only way you can lose items is if you trade them in or to another player.
Inside the "DBE_Production" folder should be the savegames for any steam account that played RL on the currently logged in OS account (the "long number" the savegame starts with is according to the player). The endings "_1.save" and "_2.save" are two versions of the according player's savegame file - think of the "_2.save version" as a kind of "internal backup" if things go wrong in the "real" savegame.
Filesize should be around 100kiB to 200kiB (just a little check - if filesize is e.g. a few MiB or only 10kIB it might be corrupted).
I sometimes (but not always) have a corrupted savegame file, too. But the corruption is very likely to take place when starting up the game during the "steam cloud sync" step, as the manually backed up files *after closing* the game post-playing are "correct" and you can replace the corrupted ones with them.
My method to check if again a corruption has occurred is that i "remember" (screenshot, as i am lazy) my "played games" in the carrer sub menu - if those are less when i start the game then last time i quit the game it corrupted the savegame files and/or steam cloud overwrote the "correct" local ones with an *OLD* copy which resided in the steam cloud.
The "wrong" behavior is most times co-indicated with a "you have got new items" thingy when starting the game.
@Dirkened: please check if it's possible to opt-out of "saving replays into the steam cloud", as my current thoughts go into the "buffer overflow leads to file corruption" direction on the steam cloud side. PM me for further details if neccessary.

On the SteamDB website you can see the paths where your savegames are located in each OS - for me the "group 4 and group 5" are interesting as a Linux user (Ubuntu 18.04).
It also states that "in general" (OS indipendent, only related to Steam Cloud) there is a limit of a little less than 100MiB (which you might have also guessed in the game's local files detail page inside the steam library) but also a max. number of 200 files.
Maybe if "you" upload alot of replays (more than 200 files) your savegame might - in this process - get corrupted, pushed out of your Cloud storage, given as gift to 4 newborn baby kittens, carried to valhalla or whatever - that needs some feedback from "some Psyonix guy", that clarifies how they implemented the savegame and replay syncing with Steam Cloud.
You don't have to use the tools mentiond above (and i haven't tested them yet or looked at the code if it's malicious), but if you want to, feel free to do so. I will do it when i have a little bit more spare time; until then i use my own "RL savegame file(s) backup script" i wrote since my confidence in the way Psyonix/Steam does it was shaken.
@Thrifter:
But again, don't trust other people's code "per se" or run it even as root/admin or without the proper protection (e.g. antivirus/firewall when on Windows) or preparation (e.g. manual backup of all important files)! One time might be enough if you "make love without a condom" and you might only know when someone that *you* have infected tells you that he's got "it" from you - if you don't care about yourselves, at least care for your beloved ones
1.lie (yes, in times of the internet you meet interestingly behaving people)
2.got scammed (although you should have noticed this; but this is unlikely as you see the items for a short period of time as you state)
3.experienced a severe bug, that you should report to psyonix via mail or in the appropriate sub forum.
In my experience when my savegame gets corrupted (and an older Version is loaded from Steam Cloud) when i start the game i get instant notifications about all "new items" that i earned in the time between the old savegame's state (which is 'actively loaded' and the new ones' state (that got deleted somehow). -> No items "lost".
So in my opinion it looks like that they switched at some point of time to "server side stored items", otherwise my "items since the last/old savegame state" would simply disappear into the ether and i could restore them with putting the backup savegame back into place.
I haven't tried the other way around (e.g. overwriting my current savegame with a far older backup) just to see if i can let my items disappear, but i also do not have any intention to do so.

I'd recommend that you contact Psyonix directly (e.g. eMail) and tell them about your strange behaviour. Make sure to include alot of your system's general details (Hardware, used OS, Internet connection type (direct/VPN), country you live in, steam username) but not any too personal information such as passwords, tokens, keys, ....
I talked with our client team and they mentioned that replays should not be saving to the Steam cloud, and only SaveData should be, but it seems like that's not the case so I'll make sure that we investigate it more.
I don't see any history of you owning Hellfire, and when you received the Breakout Type-S, you traded it away 9 minutes later, and you traded away the Synthwave about 45 minutes later.
