Linux No Force Feedback with a 360 controller.
I've been trying without success to setup Rocket League and force feedback but haven't run into any configurations that work so far. Is it not supported in Linux?

Currently, I've tried: xboxdrv with and without --mimic-xpad | the actual xpad kernel driver & the steamos-xpad driver.

As an aside, I've also tried using my PS3 controller and haven't had any luck there either.

I can confirm, no rumble with xbox 360 pad on Linux.
Dito - no rumble for me, too.

lsmod | grep x
states xpad as loaded module, but i just started with my research (so i didn't fiddle around with another module/driver yet).
Also would really like to get rumble working on my Ubuntu Linux setup! Everything else on Rocket works great! But when I play on Windows, rumble really adds to the experience, surely it's just a tweak by the devs to get it working?
no rumble for me too on linux. Pls fix it :(
If it helps the devs, I can confirm that the rumble in the driver works by testing with the `fftest /dev/input/by-id/usb-©Microsoft_Xbox_360_Wireless_Receiver_for_Windows_E03CC460-event-joystick` command :)
I stole jayD's command set from above and tested my 3rd party XBox360wired controller positive:

fftest /dev/input/by-id/usb-Performance_Designed_Products_Afterglow_Gamepad_for_Xbox_360_06975271-event-joystick

I just noticed how much i :healthvial: the TAB-Auto-complete feature of bash :steamhappy:
-=[ BME ]=- Joey I believe xpad is the preferred solution anyway, I tried Xboxdrv (which is the only other driver I believe) and that constantly forced up the camera so was unusable anyway.
Also yeah Tab auto-complete is great, don't know what I'd do without it ;)
So this is a Linux-only problem? I've got a Logitech F710 that also has no vibration in this game. I just assumed the batteries were dead or something. (Ubuntu 16.10 if that matters)
Yup I mean we're all testing on 360 controllers as it's pretty much the standard, but it'd probably be worth a try SuperSluether with that controller in Windows if you can to see if it works (I'm betting it likely will).
I also noticed there's a bug reporting section of the forum. Is there a way we can move this disucssion to there?

I can't test in Windows, Linux is my only available OS. My controller does vibrate in other games, it's just RL that doesn't seem to work.
I can confirm this bug. I run Steam on Arch linux and force feedback also doesn't work in Rocket league only. I also use 360 controller (wireless). Would be cool if that could be fixed!
on ubuntu 14.04 using xboxdrv with a wired xbox 360 controller force feedback works great in games like euro truck simulator 2, american truck simulator, and dolphin emulator, and fftest also gives force feedback, but rocket league only responds to the middle xbox button and no other buttons and star conflict seems to not even see the controller at all, all other games i normally would use a controller with seem to work fine with xboxdrv and the xbox 360 controller tho
fyi i installed ubuntu-xboxdrv from the ubuntu-xboxdrv ppa, not the original xboxdrv in the ubuntu repos
