Linux support?
Does rocket league support linux users? i only say this cause i have the game on steam and i can launch it just fine but i can't seem to connect to the Steam cloud (my data) or even the rl servers. Doesn't even give me a option for online.

Sadly they dropped support for linux users. While we still have a native version of the game, it won't be able to connect to the online servers and won't receive further updates. Also they stopped offering refunds some time ago.

But luckily it's still possible to play online on linux by using wine/proton, and it even performs pretty good. If you are not able to play online, you might still be using the native client, instead of the windows client.
Just rightclick the game in your library, select "settings", check "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool" and select any proton version, it should work fine out of the box. But if it does not, just report back and I'll try to help you. There are also several more talented users on this forum that might have additional suggestions ;)

Just in case that this is not one of the typical troll questions that tend to derail linux threads:
There are far too many reasons (privacy, open source, free software, ability to configure all aspects of your system, no bloat software, etc.) to list them all here and everyone has different motivations to use linux.
Personally, I just can't think of any reason why I should use an OS by Microsoft or Apple and I simply prefer the concept of most linux distributions.

Unfortunately, Rocket League stopped supporting Linux in the spring of this year.

There are tools (not officially supported by Psyonix) how you maybe could play on Linux :
"If you play Rocket League on Linux, you can try Steam's Proton app or Wine. These tools are not officially supported by Psyonix. Please see the links to both below."

Did you make sure to set Steam to force proton in the game properties? If you didn't, then it runs the native Linux version, which has no online functionality. If you are running on proton, the online functionality will be there.
