Always wondered: Why can't you use X-Devil snakeskin on X-Devil MK2?
As the title says, it's bothered me for a while. I get that it's the "MK2", but to me for some reason it would make sense that you should be able to use it on the MK2. It's still the "X-Devil"... Same for the regular X-Devil decals.

I know, I know... "But it's not the same car!"
Still the X-Devil though. :/

Sounds about right...
"Buy more crates if you want more MK2 skins instead of MK1"

Or... OR... y'know, different texture maps.

Which means they need to put some work to adapt the textures. And they don't want to do this "for free".

Because they are just different cars.

Or it's just not important enough to justify the time in their minds. The import bodies have their own, unique set of decals right? They're functionally different cars, that happen to share performance attributes. Psyonix's decal art style has clearly evolved over time, so perhaps the remaking the old, technically "dated" decals is just very low priority in the devs' minds.

Maybe that will change in the future, maybe not. I just think jumping straight to accusations of greed is stretching it, and happens far too often.

I still disagree, but to be honest I hope you are right.
And I can see your point. It was a nice discussion, you know how to argument, this is something rare to find here these days.

Wow. Thank you! It's a sporadic thing. Communicating my thoughts well isn't something I'm always the greatest at. Your words are greatly appreciated.

1) They're not the same as BM decals. BM decals find the panel edges and create effects mathematically, whereas Snakeskin is a proper animated skin fitted to the body so that it wraps around correctly. That's why it has higher quality effects.

2) Yes, they could create an X-Devil Mk2 version of the skin and have the computer choose the appropriate version for the car. However, they've got to make 15 items per crate at a rate of roughly 1 per 2 months or less. Of course they're going to hold some things back.
