For those who use xbox controller
Do you use default controls or recommend changing them a bit? I'm new to RL and use the XB1 controller default controls. Let me know, thanks.

I have Xbox one controller as well. I've switched boost to A and jump to B. Also Roll left-right to LB-RB
Mirage Jan 6, 2017 @ 4:50am
Jump to A and boost to X for me, drift to B.

so default controls are used by top players xb1 controller too? i saw someone using drift as LB?

I also just found out the drift button can also change your momentum in air by this haha.

It's more personal preference than anything else really, also depends on how you hold your controller.
I don't use my setup because that's what the pro's use, I use this because this works for me, because I find it comfortable.

I've just got everything default except for boost set to RB (have to disable or change voice chat binding) and find it great to use.

Boost to RB, drift to LB, voice chat on B (never use it) and scoreboard on X. I also have my air roll on LB.

So i see a lot of people put drift to LB? and drift is 2 buttons in one which i didnt know, for aerial drifts as well.

Jump and boost in easy locations is important for double jump aerials, it changed my game entirely after I did that. You need an easy aerial roll as you also need to use the boost button a lot in mid air, and LB works for most people.
I have my drift and air roll on seperate buttons though, as I use 1 finger for trigger and then I wouldnt be able to use reverse and drift at the same time.

ooo because you need to boost while drifting sometimes? cuz current layout is B for boost and X for drift. Having drift to LB will allow me to do that

this is a good one but change air roll to LB, but I think you have to change the scoreboard to a diff button like the 'back' ( or any other button ). I use it and highlighly recommend it

Cant I just put drift as LB and that will also be my barrel roll?

I actually tried that ... but I don't recommend it ... i couldnt get used to it. I found it easier to have drift at 'B'. Somehow it's easier to play. The only negative of having drift at B is that it's hard to boost and drfit at the same time ( if boost is at X ), but you can learn to do it simulaneosly. I did :D

well default makes it hard to drift and boost at the same time. Bumper as drift and B for boost is what im at now, much easier to boost and drift. How was it hard to get used to?

i don't know i just found it awkward to do quick little boosts and dribble the ball. When I changed back to B it was a lot easier. If you want you can use your own type of controls, it all depends on your hands and mind :D

Two common rebinds include putting Air Roll+Powerslide or Boost on LB/L1. This gives a lot more control at the higher level of play.
