I grew up playing this game as one of the first games I got on my brand new Xbox 360. I played this game religiously, even if I wasn't good at it, I eventually got better. Reading up and watching achievement guides on where to find the PP stickers and get all the survivors out of the mall.

I just made it to Overtime mode on my first play through and decided to check out the Community Discussion page here only to see it filled with ungrateful people that are unhappy with these censorship changes.

Listen, if you all are that unhappy with these changes, just go back and play the original game (also on steam for significantly cheaper.) and ♥♥♥♥ off with the endless posts about the censorship. Its in every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ review, and its every other post on here, your opinion is nothing special.

I for one am just grateful I got a great remaster of one of my favourite games, and I don't think not being able to take booby shots on decaying zombies, or having a few lines changed for psychopaths really deserves the amount of hate you people are spewing on this game.

Bugs, game play issues, whatever that's fine but you people are being ridiculous, ♥♥♥♥ off and go play the original and enjoy your 2006 pixelated Cheryl boobies.

I for one cant wait to buy the Dead Rising 2 remaster WHEN it comes :)

I feel like the people you see being really loud about the changes/censorship stuff don’t actually like Dead Rising and just like getting mad at things and making a fuss. The stuff that’s “censored” here has no big impact on the actual game, all the things that are core to Dead Rising are here and improved, so just ignore the minority of people that are freaking out about it. Because that’s all they are, a loud minority. Meanwhile the game is sitting at very positive reviews on all platforms which tells the true story of how people view the game

I'm so sure that most of these people screaming about censorship are just troll farms trying to muddy with American politics during the election cycle because it's the same accounts in every single game on Steam and surely nobody is actually that upset that they censored getting bonus points for taking upskirt panty shots of zombies.

I believe it's because the AAA gaming industry in general is plagued with similar problems. People are starting to get tired of it, and being more vocal about it. It's absolutely astonishing at how many game franchises and companies have effectively destroyed themselves. I swear like 90% of the AAA games released nowadays go on my ignore list. I'm not upset at the ones who clearly advertise what they have done, for instance dragon age, because then I know it's not a game made for me and I can just ignore it; what I don't like is when a company is sneaky. I'm getting pretty good at noticing little red flags in marketing materials. The censorship in this game wasn't exactly sneaky, but I don't recall them mentioning the removal of things in the marketing material. Though to be fair I didn't see much marketing of this game in general so that doesn't really apply to this game, for me.

Of course the solution is just to ignore the game and move on, it's not really that constructive to complain in the forums. From the developer/ publisher perspective though, it does help tell them why their game isn't selling as well as it could. In business it's generally assumed for every customer that complains, there are many others that are silent but feel the same way; I don't recall the exact number and it probably varies depending on the business but I think it was like 10-20. The same is true for compliments but to a lesser degree, maybe like 4 or 5 people who are silent for a compliment for each one that is vocal. As long as the conversations don't get out of hand, it's helpful for the company to have these discussions here so they can track them.

People like to see it remastered as it was and not changed from the original.

It doesn't make them ungrateful. Also, does saying that their opinion is nothing special, make yours special? You can blindly say you are going to buy DR2 but criticism is allowed for this and the eventual sequel remaster.

People also mischaracterizing their criticisms as "mub boobies" are missing the point. It is about censorship overall, at least to me.

"Ungrateful", wow thank you Capcom for asking for my money for a game. You put the reason for being annoyed plainly in your stupid joke when you say "2006 pixelated Cheryl boobies." We would like to play the remaster with better graphics and quality of life changes but are disappointed that the product has the caveat of supporting censorship. I and others do not appreciate that from any company and when you downplay censorship in a remaster, it shows that you put cultural sensitivity over the values of the original piece. I understand when consumers cannot help themselves and have to play it despite the issues but when people like you are not just content to buy and play the game, but feel the need to downplay the disrespect to the original game you become a corporate bootlicker. We should be customers and not consumers and make our voices heard when companies make mistakes.
