Siege at the border to canada
How to get past it? What do I absolutely need to survive it? Got there once with my friend and we got absolutely demolished by the zombie rain in the cabin.

that is the siege right b4 the border. it is random weather you get the cabin or a town area. most of the time if you get the cabin consider it the end of the road for you and your team...

Cabin? Don't wanna be a mood killer but I fear you haven't even seen the final siege. That one is taking place in a large city area and takes four hours to complete swarming you with hundreds of zombies.

That said the Cabin map is indeed rather difficult as there is very few space. With this you can't really run away or kite zombies in circles. I don't think there is something you absolutely need. But both of you should probably have high fitness, preferably medium to high strength and one to two good weapons (unbreakable, hitting at least two targets) and not being tired. If one of you is a martial artist it will help a lot already. But with jus two team members it will be hard so more team members is always a plus.
Alternatively, additionally one of the team members should have a high a shooting skill and a weapon which can hit more than one zombie at a time (Shotgun or Hunting Rifle are enough) to clear out the horde if it gets to overwhelming. Usually you are well-trained and -equipped enough at this point that you should be able to fight of the horde with melee alone unless you had a few "accidents" on your road trip ..... or Jason, **** Jason. Let the bastard join on third day and he killed 8 team members before giving up on the road trip four days before reaching Canada.

However, for the siege in the city of crushed hope you should bring all ranged weapons you can find. And in difference to the cabin map you should avoid getting indoors for too long. Outside is safer here.

After the last trader camp there are effectively three siege maps in a row.

The first is in the cabin for 1.5, The second is in a city for 4 hours, And the last is running to the actual border of Canada.

For the cabin I would advise bringing any guns you have. Ideally you shouldn't expend all of your ammo here, But the map is fairly small. I would suggest jumping between rooms briefly as zombies are about to spawn. (Don't stay in the room, Simply change long enough for the zombies to spawn, Walk back out and close the door.) If you have any spare explosives, You can use those in place of guns if you're careful/There is adequate room to move away. However I would advise saving any explosives you have for:

The city. This is the longest siege in the game, However you also have a big open space to move around in. I would highly advise bringing any explosives you have with you (If you ever find the option to buy pipebombs for food, I always take the 9 for 15). You want to move around a little as possible. Blindly running around the map will spread the spawns out and you can easily end up cornered. Instead I would advise keeping your movements to a minimal. As zombies are starting to ball up toss an explosive. With six Pipebombs alone you can last for 1.5-2 hours. The houses throughout the map tend to provide rare weapon drops, Unless there is one directly next to your spawn wait until the Siege ends before looting these if you have enough wiggle room.

The border is the last area in the game. If you have a car upon arrival your characters will bail out as it crashes into a zombie hoard near the entrance. Your goal is to run across a bridge up to the Canadian border. However shortly after crossing the bridge you will see a massive wave of zombies. If have any spare explosives left, Tossing one should open up a gap large enough for your party to run through. Otherwise use your guns and cut a path through. Once you reach the border the NPC's (After a short delay) will clear out the remaining hoard.

For the 4 hr city seige, i actually runn along the boarders of the map with a shotgun to clear the occasional zombie. running counterclockwise tends to keep them all in the middle, plus, when the timer runs out, you're right beside an exit.

Oh jesus there are two more sieges. That's nice. Just getting to the cabin was a miracle....

I usually bring an automatic firearm on my main character and possibly a heavy weapon if they have average or above strength. As for my followers, if I'm lucky enough, I'll have 2 or 3 tactical spears (bought from polearm trader for 9 food each) on them because of their half stamina cost. Those spears make the game easy mode. The bare minimum my followers should have would be the claw/ballpeen hammer during those sieges. If you have even more trouble, I'd equip them all with a pistol and hope for the best.

Short Awnser, In the Cabin Just Run inside then look for the extra room that leads into what looks like a dead end. most zombies spawn outside so they most won't follow in, then when the seige ends you can slowly kill the zombies inside the house luring them back into the room and then leave

Good news, the final siege at the border bridge is easy. Just a short jaunt over the bridge and the RCMP take care of the rest. The 4 hour city Siege is the real last challange.

The 4hr hour siege ALWAYS has a house with 3 or 4 pipe bombs and a house with 3 gas tanks that you can use to clear groups of zombies, its advisable to get here with around 80 shoutgun shells and 2 shotguns for your team and some explosives too.

But if you are not playing in Extreme or KEPA, you should be able to handle it with only the items given to you inside the city alone. (With a little kiting and making the zeds group together as to maximize the blasts)
If you have been able to get a good firearm, then you can bring that and 1-2 good weapons and you should be fine. Though having higher fitness and strength could really help as not imrpoving those skills could easily screw you over. Also you should as a rule of thumb (Atleast for me) you should give 1 firearm to each person adn start the battle with melee only turned on. Then hwhen you get cornerd you can quickly switch to guns only then back to melee.
Hope this helps if not then that means I just haven't played enough recently...:steambored:
