Endless mode counts as another win for Ascension level

Tried the new Ascension mode for the first time, beat the final boss, and got the achievement for beating level 1 ascension.

Then I tried endless mode in the same run. After I finally "lost" and got the victory screen again, I received a notification that I beat ascension 2. When I went back to the ascension screen in the menu it shows I have ascension 3 unlocked.

+1 I reproduced this as well. I got to Ascension 4 in two runs this way.
