Any recommendations for what cards to banish for trials/ascension?
Starting to tackle these and purposely avoided banishing until now. Wanted to get some advice on what to banish depending on mode x faction.

This is only if you are serious and trying min/max win efficiently to get every achievement:

Depends the faction but for everyone except Republic, you banish everything (unless the specific trial requires it) except military hospital, veterans hall, blacksmith, and pretty much every tech except ridgeway, optimizer, cartography, and lucky finds. For the order you can also throw in some religious buildings if you want to make the game easier but plan to get rid of them as you progress, church+cathedral+food/wood/gold generation is helpful early game. For Republic it doesn't matter, the level 10 belfry is the only building that matters so same ban as above plus something to get you through the mid game (i.e. prisons).

There is also a infinite recursion trick but I forget what it is, it's on the forum so search, it's faction specific though, I think order but might have been republic or north. in that case just banish every building that doesn't enable that combo. I don't bother, you really don't need to get THAT clever but you can, it's more for endless IMHO.
Thanks for the tips.

I assume this is because you end up upgrading everything and after that faith is no longer useful since you don't need resources anymore? I am a bit disappointing how weak conversion is since you can only convert one, and it's random, and at some point unless you spam a lot of faith, the amount you generate can't meet what you need.

What's the recursion trick? Searching the forums turned up nothing and Google also didn't turn up anything.

Endless got boring after a while, but I need to do it with mountains to get one last card for the collection. Kind of annoying how random these cards are. I almost never have mountains at the end.

Bonus Q: Is there not a viable strategy to win the Wonder? I've never taken it with me since by the time you get it, you already have a viable deck. Going to guess at higher difficulties it becomes hard to get enough resources?
I never banish anything personnally, I've added the banish in an update because people kept asking for it but to each their own I guess.

The recursion is possible with The Order, gaining Faith then Troops (Commandery) then Faith (By the Sword). It can be "infinite" if you combine it with a second loop: Faith generates Gold (from Tithe & Abbey) > Barracks gain troops > Troops give more Faith (By the Sword), etc.

Basically yeah, you are just rushing to get all level 3's. Once you are level three, 100% of your crusaders just goes into "increasing max health" because it scales insane with the military hospital next to a blacksmith next to a veterans hall. Of if doing all faith, replace the military hospital with the commandery and then instead of boosting health with crusaders, you spam faith because likewise, once you are pulling in tens of thousand of troops a round, you have basically as many upgrades as you want forever each round.

Oh thanks. I realized I've been doing it. I thought it was infinite but it's actually not. It seems you can add to this loop with Cathedral + Sacred Ground, as I was able to keep diminishing the enemy units with Sacred Ground in this loop.

I see. I never ended up getting this far in endless mode since after 5-10 battles it kind of gets pretty same-y. It takes a lot of crusaders to get to 99 faith so you end up still having to have at least blacksmith + cathedral + some faith building (sacred ground gives the most at +6). I suppose you can also kickstart the loop with a single military hospital + by the sword, but at that point you might as well just go the military hospital route. Vs. the military hospital is more guaranteed, since the faith route still requires the faith buildings to show up within a reasonable window so you can stack them next to each other.

Is there any point to keep the Krak de Chevaliers around? It's not going to be able to compete with military hospitals or veterans hall or commandery at that point.
"Is there any point to keep the Krak de Chevaliers around? "

No, I think the "order" has the most worthless faction buildings in the game, I didn't keep in around even on normal.

Oh, man. I feel like it needs to do something useful, like nerf the Crusader gains but depending on how well you do with stacking the same terrain, give you a bonus to Crusader gains. Otherwise, this building is kind of weak unless you need units but don't have anything else better, which is a rare situation. Even if you have the worst luck, you should not be in this state post act 1.
The real problem with it is the "connected", not that it needs a resource buff. Basically it fails on bosses and bosses are when you need the troops. If a building actively works against you on a boss, it's worthless.
