Add character creation

Instead of having a character randomly generated and permanently tied to your steam id, you should be able to create your own character because it will let the players be who they want to be instead of having a certain look pushed on them forever.

They already explained their stance before, Every game nowadays has character creation, it's like a "feature" on a bullet point list that executives demand on every game under the sun.

Garry decided that while characters would be different, what you look like wouldn't be a personal choice, it's something that is out of your control and that you have to live with.

There is a reason for that, it's because it's a heavily requested feature that sells more games. A lot of games that have charcter cutomization still have a "random" button so you can get the same effect as Rust is offering now anyway. Some people just like to have the choice.

I don't think this should be strictly true. I know the devs have said that this is how they want it and they have explained their reasons for it, but that doesn't mean their whole player base has to shut up and accept it.

It's a hot topic and players seem to be divided over it, some really couldn't care less and some really want character customisation. The topic keeps coming up on the forums so clearly it's something that a fair few people want in the game.

The point is, the game is still in early development and we have bought into that development process with Early Access, now is the best time to request things you want to see changed. Even if those changes never happen it never hurts to ask, right? If enough people stand up and ask for a feature then it maybe enough to make the devs change their minds.

Personally I don't mind the whole random character thing and I'm a server admin too, so I'm even being forced into using the ugly female model. It's not going to stop me playing or enjoying the game but I would quite like a 1 time choice to be male or female.

I play Rust with my girlfriend and it would be quite nice to have our characters the correct gender, it's slightly odd to look over and see my girlfriend as a guy with huge junk, lol.

Well just make sure you have the pants in the relationship, in game not irl
