Regarding LoG 2 for Linux it actually looks pretty bad. Reason is that AH does not port to Linux themselfs because they are a very small team. For the LoG 1 port they handed the game to an external Linux guy and right now they can't even get said person to support his own work to fix a current problem with OpenGL on nVidia's Maxwell gpu's: http://steamcommunity.com/app/207170/discussions/0/611698195158570386/#c615085406660366980

Given this situation me too won't consider handing out a Linux port when future support can't be guaranteed.

This is a pretty major problem with outsourced ports. Lots of games work now, but what about tomorrow? I try not to think about it... Hopefully Valve's SteamOS takes off and Linux dev is taken in-house by even the little guys.

-_- I bought the game on release without even looking to see if It has a linux port (because the prior game had linux support). This is also prior to steam refund system. I want to play it but I cannot. :steamsad:

Let's be precise: you can't play it natively but Linux has WINE.
Meh. I don't do wine.

That's what happens when you let a guy do a port. Give that job to a company like Feral Interactive and your problems are solved.

Also, you could use an engine with support for Win/Mac/Linux and do it yourself with some mouse clicks.

I was going to buy this two games, I thought as the first game already had a linux port the second would get a port soon, but seeing that the first port is poorly done and has no suport I think I'll give up the purchase. Thanks for the info.

Since my post the Linux support issue with LoG 1 has been resolved as the linked thread clearly states.

Since this thread has popped back up into my notifications, I thought I'd share a game with native Linux support, and has a developer who listens to his users and is actively developing the game. It's more combat-focused, but I actually prefer it to LoG1, myself. I also have made a nice (IMHO) Steam Controller profile for the game too.

Well, there's lot's of other programmers, teams, that can do this job.
I wonder who did the Mac port. Since they have already ported a (lol) DirectX game to OpenGL, a GNU/Linux port is trivial at this point, if the developers had any willingness whatsoever to ship a GNU/Linux binary.

AH does all Mac ports and support by themselfs and they sure would do Linux ports too if it's as trivial as you think.
