Regardless of the above fact, I'd tend to agree. Console users aren't as involved as PC users... generally speaking maybe? But they def aren't. They just want to load a game and have it work.
I'm not sure a console player will be expecting that they're going to have to restart their worlds every 6 months (or 1.5 years lol), every time there's a big alpha update. Generally speaking you're under the presumption that the disc you receive, or the digital download, is the game as it stands and will stand.
Your average couch surfer or kid receiving this game for xmas may build a large world only to find out that they'll lose it in 6 months to get the latest features. And they probably won't know in advance, they'll just lose it.
Meh - it's whatever. I'm presuming they could use the cash influx or something.
I think I’ve heard from somewhere that Xbox/PS have a rule where you can’t break save games with updates. So I don’t know how the the fun pimps or the Aussie developers are gonna figure that one out.
I might be wrong though.
At worst, this means the new console version will be stuck on whatever happens with A22.
The console version won't get stuck with A22 for sure. TFP is doing it the right way this time, and they are the publisher AFAIK. So most likely it will be released as an Alpha at a minimum. The same way it's currently listed on the Xbox PC store should be how it shows up in the consoles.
