Open the log in a text editor. Near the top of the log should be messages about finding your mod. Here you will see errors if it can't load the mod. Later in the log you will find error messages if the mod is not working correctly.
Your post is equivalent to me saying.....hey, f89519248, I modded my car and it's not working. How do I fix it?
Im playing Rebirth currently and I whipped up a quick modlet to add Tier 6 equipment mods, really simple. Did some quick xml changes tossed it all together into the normal mod file structure and put it in a folder with modinfo, same ways I've done for the last several versions, then tossed it in the mods folder in the 7 days directory. But nothing. Id love to see a red error in the log file, at least Id have something to go on.
What am I missing?
<xml>
<Name value="FPS_Animal_Redux" />
<DisplayName value="FPS Animal Redux" />
<Version value="1.2.1" />
<Description value="Rebalances timid and hostile animals and adds Hostile Chickens to the game!" />
<Author value="fatrap" />
<Website value="" />
</xml>
Note.... very important to have NO spaces in the Name value line.
Yep. First thing I checked. I even grabbed the modinfo.xml from one of the mods that is already running and just changed a few things. Still nothing. I was thinking it might have something to do with trying to mod an overhaul... not sure why, but Im out of guesses. Im currently on Day 28 of a Rebirth run (Great Overhaul btw). Im about to grab any other modlet and see if it runs, something superficial.
Also, in the past I did not have to start a new save if I just made small xml changes. Has this changed? Was also reading about how %appdata% is where the mod folder can go too. Since Rebirth is under the main steam directory, I figured that wouldnt matter, but who knows.
And there are a few things that will require a new game start if they get changed. Not many... but enough that cause a bit of frustration!
I have used both locations for mods and have not seen any difference. I think that I started putting them in the same directory where the 0_TFP_Harmony folder is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\7 Days To Die\Mods
Important note... do not ever delete that 0_TFP_Harmony folder... it will really bork things up!
