random gen darkness falls question
I wanted to try random gen (yes I know I risk the story pois not loading and needing to check first time load world). What I need to know is how do I use random gen without the compo pack? Compo pois are not in proper tiers. Level 1 should not have rad Weights. On day 3 quest not happy. Multi games have had high level zoms in every nook and cranny of what should be tier 1 during week 1 in forest. Not fun.
Update: removing the compo files causes random gen to error and freeze game during world gen. Bummer.

DF does not have the combo pack, unless you have it installed as a stand alone mod yourself? A new Dev version was just posted a few hours ago, Dev Build 17. DF has reworked POI's that Khaine and his Team have readjusted and checked personally. It's there own version of a combo pack, called PEP. To create a random world without it you can just delete the PEP folder located in the folder "Mods" from the DF download.

I must have an older version of something odd has happened. I do not remember ever downloading any mod but darkness falls. Had to watch Khaine's vid three times cause I'm an airhead. :) I did this some time ago so who knows. I do not see an update option, so will have to learn how to update DK. Thanks for your help. My copy has pregen maps dk soinso size either no cp or cp.

Khaine is not using the Compo Pack but is carefully vetting each POI he adds to reduce those crazy mob numbers and get the POIs to be at the proper level. The maps he provides for the current Dev builds have only those POIs that are working as they should OR he also provides maps that have none of the Compo Pack POIs. If you check the maps in the current stable build, (This is the one you would see in the ModLauncher) you'll see NO CP at the end of each of them. That means NO compo pack. That could be what you're looking for. He also set that folder with the alternate POIs into a separate folder within the Darkness Falls Core/POIs folder. You can simply remove it before loading or generating any maps and that will remove them.

The Dev builds will not be on the ModLauncher so you'll have to go to Khaine's Discord and you'll find all that information there.

If I understand you in "prefabs" it has compopack48 7 different sub files. So do I just delete those and when I random gen all is good? Other then checking if lab is in world. Yes I know might not be able to do story and have to hunt in wasteland to find, I do know about DK maps and to look for no cp but I have done the small and med ones and wanted to do a random. I like the smaller sized maps so don't travel all day to go place to place. FYI I am running v4.03a not sure what version is newest.

Thank you. I have played the story a few times. Just wanted to try random gen a while. It's nice when the story locations spawn but really the lab is key. I have had the bunkers not spawn that sucks. So long as you speed run the Quests spawning in an npc to do the story is not a big deal. If you exit the game they despawn though. Eve is the main one that often does not spawn. I often make Anna house my base. :)
