Profession--Upon starting, players choose which job they had prior to the apocalypse using the "start here" profession kit found on their tool belt (hot bar). This choice will determine the players starting bonus stats, items, recipes and quest lines. Players are able to learn all Professions over time by collecting 20 Profession Pages and crafting another Professions Kit. The following are the Profession choices.

Building:
  • Blocks no longer upgrade or downgrade into other types of blocks. Wood only upgrades to wood not to Scrap Iron.
  • All Player building blocks (but Log Cabin Wood) are upgraded from Frames
  • Building block recipes are no longer locked behind levels or required perks. To learn to build the Frames and Upgrade Material for a building set simple craft the required Tool and destroy world blocks of that style to retrieve building supplies to re build that style of block. Only the required tool will result in the retrieval of the needed materials and only by using these supplies to rebuild a block will you gain xp in the needed skill to unlock the crafting recipes so you can craft them from raw materials and not scavenge for resources.

Weapon Modifications:
  • Looted weapon parts are of low quality so you must collect them and improve them in the Combine Window on the Bulletpress to upgrade weapon parts.
  • Leveling a firearm skill no longer increases your damage now it increases your chance to dismember a zombie with that weapon class.
  • Current firearm modifications include silencers, and scope attachments
  • Crossbows are now made from craftable upgradable parts
  • New Firearms- Auto Crossbow; Revolver; MG4; HK416; UMP; ACW; G36C; M4A1; SCARH; AK12; DeltaElite1911; DesertEagleVII; Double Barrel Shotgun

Skill:
Entire Skill Book system redone. A variety of skills locked behind Skill Books within a tiered loot system. 1st tier is mainly found on bookshelves and other household loot containers.2nd tier is found in small and large Safes. 3rd tier is found in Steel Ammunition Crates, Military Vehicles and on late game zombies. Very small chance of finding all books some common containers.

Some skill books can be learned by/taught to other players via creation of the Blank Skill Book plus the appropriate resources & item’s required on a Research Desk. An Ink Pen and Book are needed to craft Blank Skill Books. Players can learn additional professions by collecting 20 profession pages and crafting another Profession Kit.

Food:
  • Introducing Food Spoiling in world loot! The longer a player plays a map the less fresh and unspoiled food they will find and the more spoiled, moldy foods they will find. Requiring the player to become self sufficient or risk starvation in late game.
  • All basic uncooked foods can be broken down (scraped) into serving (Fruit, Grain, Protein, Veggie). These servings can be combined to make more nutritious meals.
  • New Workstation - The Food Prep Table –Used to break down food serving more efficiently, store them and cook them into nutritious meals.
Farming:
  • All players can now learn farming recipes through a Farming Quest Chain. Completing each part of the chain unlocks another level of your Farming Skill and new farming recipes.
  • All farmable plants require tilled (fertile) dirt.
  • Plant growing cycles adjusted longer.
  • Full list of cultivatable plants- Apples, hops, aloe, mushrooms, Carrots, Wheat, Coffee, Strawberry, Sunflowers, corn, potatoes, blueberry, cotton, goldenrod, yucca, chrysanthemum and Tomato
  • Some wild plants only drop seeds and cannot have seeds crafted like Bamboo, Tobacco and Marijuana
  • Some plants only grow in the wild and drop no seeds
Zombies and Predators:
  • Over 200 Zombie variations added , now you don’t know what a zombie is going to do by how it looks or moves.
  • Zombies reworked to have much higher health but die quickly from head shots.
  • Zombie Types-
    • Normal (standard zombies, speeds vary)
    • Spitters (Spit different types of acid and explode when near death)
    • Brutes (have a speed burst and do a lot of block damage)
    • Tanks (have a lot of health and a high chance to grab)
    • Screamers (summon zombie hordes)
    • Boomers (explode when near death)
    • Suicide Boomers (charge and explode on agro)
    • Burning (move fast, catch player on fire, dismember easy, leave fire trap on death)
    • Ferals (fast, high health)
    • Crawling Ferals (move on all fours fast, high health and can climb)
    • Infected Animals (have no fear and attack on sight)
  • Cop Zombies "Acid Puke" now leaves burning acid on you and can be removed with water.
  • Fat Zombies puke leaves a smell on you for a short time that attracts other Zombies.
  • Fat Zombies explode when near death causing less player damage vs cop explosions, but greater block damage within a larger area and can puke on the player when close.
  • Snakes are now venomous and drop venom sacks which are used to make Anti-venom.
  • Custom Wandering hordes with unique infected animal groups
Recipes:
100’s of added recipes from new foods, weapons, clothes and so on. Existing recipes adjusted in materials and/or quantity of materials needed. Removed Jar Mold. All foods that use jars now return them. Flashlight attachable to all helmets. Smelters use molds again.

New Systems:
  • Dead is Dead- There is no bottom to wellness.The player loses 10 wellness every time they die and when they run out of wellness they can not spawn back into the game alive with that character.
  • All clothes found in loot are low quality but can be used to learn how to craft all the variations
  • Leather must be cured by cooking it in a pot with Brain Matter and Coal Lumps. Cured Leather can then be dried on a Drying Rack.
  • Separate Repair Kits for Weapons (Weapon Repair Kit) and Machines (Scavenged Parts)
  • Small Engines for Bikes are made of quality parts(Air Filter / Radiator / Exhaust / Engine Block)and can be switched out like gun parts to improve the engine.
  • Tires can be melted in a campfire to produce Melted Rubber for crafting.
  • When Torches are placed they require fuel to burn and give off heat
  • Added Planks, Sticks, Logs, Narrow Logs, Branches
  • Added different animal meats
  • Only place to craft Bullets is at a Bullet Press
  • Steel Munition Crates (T3 Containers) relock after being looted
  • Added advanced resources for harvesting from many world Blocks (i.e.: Stoves, Desk, Fridge, Beds, Chairs and many more)
  • Added many new scraping ability’s
  • Dry Meat, Sunflower Seeds, Tobacco, Cannabis and Leather on the Drying Rack
  • All Drinks have alternate use that dumps the drink on the players head, cooling them for a short time and removing fire, acid puke and smelly puke
Melee System:
Melee weapons reworked to be a feasible option...
  • 2 handed melee weapons and most tools now have a Power Swing move (Right Mouse Button) which costs more stamina with a longer cool down. They have higher head damage, and a better chance to apply debuffs like critical hits and bleeding.
  • 1 handed weapons like knifes now have a “Fight off Zombie” move (Right Mouse Button) which costs stamina has a cool down. When used, the player receives a small speed burst for a very short time and it allows the players character to fight off zombies preventing them from grabbing you. If used after you have been grabbed it will prevent the zombie from biting you.
  • Knight Stick has 100% chance to break legs.
  • Shock Stick has 50% chances to shock.
  • Added useable Spears and Javelins that have long melee range and can be thrown.
  • 3 new Bats in loot that can have nails added to them.
  • Bladed Weapons are no longer repaired but re sharpened with Sharpening Stones that can be looted or made in the forge.
  • Bladed Weapons have increased dismemberment chance but dull quicker.
Tools:
  • Removed ability for stone axe to repair and upgrade. (Except for Logcabin Blocks)
  • Stone tools do little damage against Metal
  • Iron tools do little damage against Steel.
  • Adjusted Auger so it now works very well on soil types (dirt, clay, gravel) and stone types but not very good on metal and worthless on steel.
  • Stone Drill uses an Auger and a Diamond Bit to drill threw the hardest materials including HardStone, Iron and Steel
  • Steel Tools will break HardStone
  • Added Screwdriver
Traps:
  • Radiated soil has increased durability and causes radiation sickness and can be collected and used for traps.
  • Added Shock Traps that.
  • Added Rigged Chest that looks like normal chest but explodes when open.
  • Changed Mines to no longer instant kill Players. Candy Tin does 40 hp. Hubcap does 60 hp. Air filter does 90 hp. Pressure Plate does 65 hp.
  • All Mines now deal shrapnel damage when walked on. Shrapnel wound Bleeds, Breaks your leg, and wounds you.
  • Added 2 Decoy mines. Place Candy Tin or Air filter on the ground as a Decoy Mine that does nothing
  • Added Bear Traps
  • Wooden Spikes do little damage but Zombies get stuck in them
  • Barbed Fence can now be picked up and does more damage. Zombies now get stuck in Barbed Fence
  • Wooden Tips now do more damage to Zombies and degrade faster
Workstations:
  • All work station beside smelters (forge; Blast Furnace; Food Prep) requires the player to stay inside them for them to run. Most Workstation recipes are 5 seconds now, with perks they can be 1 second.
  • All workstations can now use anything in the tool slots
  • Blast Furness -for smelting Steel, Bulletproof Glass and Plastics
  • Dry Rack- for drying leather and foods
  • Still -for making Grain Alcohol and Beer
  • Basic Work Bench for crafting
  • Advanced Work Bench
  • Oil Refinery- for making Oil and Gas
  • Bullet Press- for crafting Bullets and has Combine Window
  • Placed Torches need fuel for light and heat
  • Campfire Tools-
  • Research Desk for crafting Skill books
  • Chicken Coop - Raise an egg to a baby chicken then the baby to a full grown Hen. When you have a Hen in the Coop you can craft eggs or feathers once a day. You can also slaughter the Hen and get raw chicken.
  • Armor Table – for crafting clothes and armor.
Buffs:
  • All Buffs switched to real time so length of game day will not mess up buffs
  • Radiation sickness from walking on Radiated Soil.
  • Added new Limp debuffs. When a player reaches 10% health they will limp. Heal up above 10% health to heal the Limp
  • Added new Fast Travel buff when you are traveling on a paved road. When on a paved road you will travel 20% faster. This Does apply to animals and zombies.
  • Vitamins give wellness buff over time but do not cure dysentery.
  • Antibiotics do not give wellness and cure wound infections.
  • Large 1st Aid Kit heals and splints leg.
  • Smoking reduces hunger but has a slight stamina drain and lowers wellness slightly.
  • Sedative quickly lowers Stamina.
  • Red Bull Stamina boosts last twice as long as coffee.
  • Sleeping bags raise your core temp by 20 and can be picked up
  • Mattress beds give 1 health every 5 seconds and raise your core temp by 25. Cannot be picked up.
  • Big Beds give 2 health every 5 seconds and raise your core temp by 30. Cannot be picked up.
  • Most drink can be dumped on your head the left mouse button. When used it will lower your core temp by -15 for 3 min. Returns jar. Put out fires and remove Acid and Smelly Spit.
  • Smoke a Joint and get High for 5 min lowering stamina by 1 every second and speed by ½ also lose 1 food and hydration every 15 seconds.
Addiction
Stimulant Can be looted or made by a Scientist with 1xBottle Water + 1xCrushed Goldenrod + 1xMixed Chemicals = 3 Stimulants. Stimulant Buff last 3 minutes increases Wellness by 1 and stamina by 4 every second. Multiple stimulants can be taken to stack buff time. Potential risks listed below (Withdrawal).

There are 3 different addiction stages for stimulants:

  • Addiction Stage 1 requires more than 3 Stimulants in a 24 hour period.
  • Addiction Stage 1 (+1 Stamina every second /+ 10% movement speed / -0.1 Wellness every 8 hours)
  • Addiction Stage 2 requires more than 6 Stimulants in a 48 hour period.
  • Addiction Stage 2 (+2 Stamina every second / + 15% movement speed / -0.1 Wellness every 8 hours)
  • Addiction Stage 3 requires more than 9 Stimulants in a 72 hour period.
  • Addiction Stage 3 (+4 Stamina every second / + 25% movement speed / -0.2 Wellness every 8 hours)
Withdrawal
If you do not keep taking Stimulants you will lose your Addiction Buff and get a Withdrawal Buff. Taking another Stimulant will cure the Withdrawal buff instantly.

There are 3 different stages of withdrawal.
  • Withdrawal Stage 1 (+1 Stamina every second / - 5% movement speed / -0. Wellness every 2 in-game hours)
  • Withdrawal Stage 2 (+2 Stamina every second / -10% movement speeds / -0.4 Wellness every 2 in-game hours)
  • Withdrawal Stage 3 (+2 Stamina every second / -15% movement speed / -0.5 Wellness every 2 in-game hours)
Wound Buff System
Anything that can attack you has a chance to hurt you. Get hurt too much and you will be wounded. To heal the wound you will have to treat it and maintain it until it heals. This wound system has 5 stages..
  • The first is Bruised and needs no tending to or maintaining it will heal on its own as long as you are not hurt more.
  • The Second is a Small Wound. When you receive enough damage to get a Small Wound you will also get a Pain Buff that can be cured with a Pain Killer. To Heal the Small Wound you need to use a Bandage on it. After some time the bandage will get dirty and need reapplied. Do all of this successfully and your small wound will heal into Bruised. Fail to keep the wound clean or receive to much more damage from attackers and it will progress to a Wound.
  • The Third is a Wound. When you receive enough damage to get a Wound you will also get a Sprained Leg Buff that can be cured with a Splint. To Heal the Wound you need to use a First Aid Bandage on it. After some time the First Aid Bandage will get dirty and need reapplied. Do all of this successfully and your Wound will heal into Small Wound. Fail to keep the wound clean or receive to much more damage from attackers and it will progress to a Sever Wound.
  • The Forth is a Severe Wound. When you receive enough damage to get a Sever Wound you will also get a Gash Buff that can be cured with a Suter Kit. To Heal the Sever Wound you need to use a Sanitized Bandage on it. After some time the Sanitized Bandage will get dirty and need reapplied. Do all of this successfully and your Sever Wound will heal into a Wound. Fail to keep the wound clean or receive to much more damage from attackers and it will progress to an Infected Wound.
  • The Last stage is an Infected Wound. When you receive enough damage to get an Infected Wound you will also get an Infection (not the Z Virus). To Heal an Infection you need to take Antibiotics. To Heal the Infected Wound you need to use a Sanitized Bandage on it. After some time the Sanitized Bandage will get dirty and need reapplied. Do all of this successfully and your Infected Wound will heal into a Sever Wound. Fail to keep the wound clean and you will die.
Zombie Bites
  • Stun is changed to a Zombie Grab (same buff just renamed for immersion)
  • Zombies now have a chance to transmit a Virus instead of an infection. Use Antiviral Meds to treat the symptoms and Zombie Virus.
  • Getting bitten and not caring for it is the only way to get the Z Virus. Infected can only Bite you if they Grab (stun) you. Once you receive a Bite you will also get a Bleed that can be healed as normal. To remove the Bite you must cook a Metal/Steel Pipe in the Campfire and Cauterize the Bite with it. You have 24 game hours to do this before you catch the Z Virus. After you Cauterize the Bite you will have a Bite Wound that you will need to treat with a Bandage. After some time the bandage will get dirty and need reapplying. Do all this successfully and you will receive a Wound, fail to do any of these steps and you will be infected with the Z Virus.
Z-Virus:
The Zombie Virus is now 7, 24 hour stages of sickness that cannot be cured (or can it?) with the 8th stage being turning into a zombie (dyeing). Only Anti-Viral Medication found in loot can regress the stages by 1 stage (1 day) prolonging your life and relieving you of the harsher symptoms.

Z-Virus Stages
  • Day 1: -1 Stamina per 5 seconds / -1 Water per 5 seconds
  • Day 2: -1 Stamina per 5 seconds / -1 Water per 5 seconds / Temp +5
  • Day 3: -1 Stamina per 4 seconds / -1 Water per 5 seconds / Temp +10 / 2% Slower
  • Day 4: -1 Stamina per 4 seconds / -1 Water per 5 seconds / Temp +10 / 5% Slower / -1 Food per 5 Seconds
  • Day 5: -1 Stamina per 3 seconds / -1 Water per 5 seconds / Temp +15 / 7% Slower / -1 Food per 5 Seconds / -1 health per 60 Seconds
  • Day 6: -1 Stamina per 2 seconds / -1 Water per 5 seconds / Temp +20 / 10% Slower / -1 Food per 5 Seconds / -1 health per 60 Seconds
  • Day 7: -1 Stamina per 1 seconds / -1 Water per 5 seconds / Temp +25 / 10% Slower / -1 Food per 5 Seconds / -1 health per 30 Seconds
  • Day 8: Death
Nutrition
When you combine food groups you get nutrition (1 Severing Type + A Different Severing Type = 1 Nutrition)
When the player starts and learns their profession their Nutrition stat is set to the highest level “Healthy Diet”.
There are 3 good stages to Nutrition.
  • At “Good Diet” you will start to gain wellness and health effects from foods.
  • At “Balanced Diet” you will begin to heal faster from injuries like broken or sprained leg, dysentery and other injuries.
  • At Healthy Diet when you are full you will receive a slow heal over time. It takes 7 game days for the full Nutrition buff to fade completely.
Bad Nutrition
The longer it has been since you had “Good Diet” the more your Malnourished Stat will start to stack up. Once all good Nutrition buffs fall off you will no longer receive wellness or health from food or drink. There are 3 stages to Malnourished.
  • At “Bad Diet” you will get hungry faster and lose stamina.
  • At “Vitamin Deficiency” you will take longer to heal from injuries; get hungry faster; lose stamina and move slower.
  • At “Malnourished” you will take longer to heal from injuries; get hungry faster; lose stamina; move slower and slowly start to lose wellness.
Wellness System
  • Vitamins give a wellness buff over time but do not cure dysentery.
  • Teas and Juices increase wellness by 0.2.
  • Wellness Juice increases wellness by 1.
  • Antibiotics do not give wellness and heal wound infections.
  • Beer reduces Wellness by -0.5.
  • Pain Pills reduce wellness by -0.1.
  • All canned foods reduce Wellness by -0.1
  • Grain Alcohol reduces wellness by -1.
Completely New Skill and XP System
  • ALL quality items have their own crafting skill and crafting a quality item only gives XP toward its own crafting skill. So crafting Stoneaxes only gives XP for improving Stoneaxes.
  • Nearly all needed recipes are bought with Skill Points that are gained by leveling skills
  • Many added Perks

MOD UPDATE

True Survival A13.7(JZMOD) v8

2/5/2016 -

Updated to A13.8

Added over 80 new Zombie variations. All Zombies walk in all ways and at different speeds.

Increased some items stack sizes

Large Metal Pipes can be scraped and smelted

Lowered Log Cabin burn time

Increased Iron Fragment weight from 5 to 7

Added New item Wet Bandana

Wet Bandana is crafted with cloth and a jar of water. When used it will lower your core temp by -15 for 3 min. Returns jar.

Increased Scrap Metal Piles health points

Lowered Shovel, Eng Stone Shovel and Eng. Shovel damage to dirt terrain

Changed Redbulls mesh to a can and added drink animation

Increased Health Points of Iron Ore

Increased Health Points of Workstations

Cobblestones can only be used in the players hand and no longer applied with any tools

Changed TNT recipe

Lowered all Food and Drinks by 40%.There is a bug were we were getting 40% more than what it was supposed to. (It will be reverted when bug is gone)

Added smell to fish and fish foods

Workstations made with Circuit Boards are now repaired with them

Increased Radiated Soil Health Points so that it can be used as traps more effectively

Increased loot timer on fishing

Fixed Gore from spawning

Lowered the amount of Small Rocks harvested from Stone

Lowered the amount of Cobblestones needed to upgrade from 16 to 10

Added Cobblestones recipe on the Table Saw that make twice as much twice as fast

Hornet’s loot is now empty and you can harvest them

Lowered Ladder burn time

Fixed Error when fueling the Mini Bike

Increased Planks from Wood from 2 to 3 and on table saw from 3 to 6

Added Block Ramps to Table saw and Rebar Ramp to forge

Fixed Iron Helmets not allowing other head gear

Changed Corn on the Cob to be cooked on the grill and lowered wellness and hydration from it

Changed Tea’s to give more hydration

Lowered all stews to give same hydration as the Bottled Water used in cooking

Added smell to Bacon and Eggs

Fixed Bottled Water hydration

Lowered crafting Sand xp

Increased Profession Page drop chance in Munition Crates

Added smell to Brain Schnitzel

Increased crafting speed for blocks on the Table Saw

Player grown Cactuses now drop Plant Fibers and Yucca Fruit

Added smell to Honey Ham

Increased Stone Keystone recipe from 500 to 1000 Small Stone

Yes you can start your own SP game with this mod. If you are doing that I would suggest turning loot respawn off

The client pack is not the mod. That is just to play on a server that runs the mod. You need the Mod to play single player

2/17/2016 –

Players can now CRAFT EVERY BUILDING BLOCK in the game. Most are found on the Table Saw

Increased Blueberries in Blueberry Pie recipe

Added Scrap Lead to Circuit Board recipe

Lowered Burnt Zombie hit damage

Burnt Zombie will now turn into a Fire Trap when killed

Re did Axe, Pickaxe and Shovel Tools. Raised starting damage lowered top end damage. Lowered degradation per use and lowered Stone and Iron degradation max. The goal in this is to have less a difference in damage in different quality tools but more durability (also to make grinding tools even less important)

Adjusted leveling curve for tools quality to be linier.

Lowered top end damage of Pickaxes and Axes.

Increased Chainsaw and Auger Parts drop rate

Changed starting item to be pick up able and not vanish if placed in a place it cannot be looted. It can still be broken if it does not change.

Fixed the speed increase portion of the addiction buff. Now it actually makes you have a higher top speed while active.

Lowered Wellness loss throughout the Stimulant/Addiction/Withdrawal buff. So it is not so off putting.

Fixed scraping amounts on all iron and steel armor

Fixed scraping amounts on Small Engine and parts

Fixed scraping on Worn Boots

Fixed scraping amount on the Mattress

Circuit Boards can be scraped for Scrap Lead

Added Frying Pan as a Tool for the Campfire

Added Fish N Chips to cooking. Cook it in a Frying Pan with 1 Fish 2 Potatoes 1 Animal Fat and 1 Paper

Increased Output Slots in crafting

Increased Crafting Que Slots

Since Armor is now unlocked Soldiers will start with the Wielder recipe

Added Steak Knife to House Loot.

Steak Knives are a limited use melee weapon. Good for a couple kills before breaking

Added Mortar and Pestle as a Tool for the Campfire

TRAMPLING THE GARDEN

You will need to protect your farm again because walking into fully grown, ready to harvest plants will destroy the food and reset the plant to seedling stage. You can no longer pick crops they must be harvested with the players hand by hitting. Using any other tool or weapon will not return food.

Increased Seed making times.

All farming crops can now be destroyed with bullets and projectiles.

Added 2 new items SeedBag and FarmingSeedBag. They are made with 5 papers and needed for making seeds. They are a locked recipe that farmers start with and the Gardening Book teaches.

Trap Update
Added new upgradable/repairable/degrading Fire Trap

Craft a Kindling Pile with Wood, Melted Rubber and Books and place it on the ground. Then upgrade it with Gas and light it with a torch. After upgrading it with a torch it will catch anything on fire that walks over it. You can upgrade it again with Coal. Ad It is used it degrades like spikes and must be repaired or replaced.

Wooden Spikes now do little damage but Zombies get stuck in them

Barbed Fence can now be picked up and does more damage.

Zombies now get stuck in Barbed Fence

Wooden Tips now do more damage to Zombies and degrade faster

Changed Zombies to not break their lower legs so quickly on traps.

Zombie’s legs can still easily be dismembered with a shot above the knee but can take more damage on their feet

New Workstations

Added new Armor Table workstation. With 5 Tools.

Armor Table craft all armor but Plant Fiber clothes

Removed all Armor Schematics from the game now all players can craft them but they will need a tool for each type.

Sewing Needle for Cloth and Awnings

Leather Needle for Animal Hide Clothing and Leather Armor

Claw Hammer for Scrap Iron

Anvil for Iron Armor

Wielder for Steel Armor

Added new Research Desk for crafting Skill books

Added new Chicken Coop. Now you can raise an egg to a baby chicken then the baby to a full grown Hen. When you have a Hen in the Coop you can craft eggs or feathers once a day. You can also slaughter the Hen and get raw chicken.

When placing Torches they now require fuel to stay lit. Also added warming area effect

Changed Burning Barrel to require fuel to stay lit. Also added warming area effect

Workstation Ventilation!

The Campfire, Forge, Blast Furness, Oil Refinery, Still and Burn Barrel all need ventilation to be placed. This works off the same system as light for plants. If you try and place a Workstation that needs ventilation in an area without it it will not function and stay pick up able. This will not affect workstations placed before this change just new ones placed.

Lowered the amount all workstations add to the Heat Map for zombie spawns by half (we will continue to adjust this till we find the sweet spot)

Hmmm is tool smithing supposed to just have this entry under the progressions.xml?

Yes tool crafting qualiy is linear. because..
