- when i die, respawning in game is basically bugged. Various issues. The fix is to just close game, restart.
- usually when on stairs (spiraling stairs) or "tight spaces" (but still usually on stairs) there is a weird glitch like im loving back and forth quicKly. Other than restart, one way to clear the condition is to hit a zombie via melee weapon.
- i seem to notice that i cannot heal from a scratched arm. Healing medical bandage does nothing.
The "mini" zombie spawn is garbage and added that they are everywhere and are always chasing you senselessly. You can be sitting there doing nothing and suddenly you have a horde on you every 5 minutes.
Regarding water, you take the water from the toilet to make contaminated water and need 3 units to make drinking water and on top of that wait 40 minutes for manufacturing... I think you exaggerated too much and if you wanted to make it as real as possible, that's not for real . The consumption of stamina with respect to the regeneration of stamina is not balanced at all and also the draining of stamina to perform actions and the need to desperately eat and drink is absurd to the point that there comes a point where you cannot perform any action. , you have to wait 3 to 4 seconds for the stamina bar to recharge for 1 normal hit. And regarding the perks they make no sense and most of them are unusable (the loot perk doesn't work at all).
And please fix the issue of textures that have failed since the previous version.
I put this as my criticism but the truth is there are many things that need to be reviewed.
Oh and you could add your links to nexusmods: https://www.nexusmods.com/7daystodie
- The "sometimes get caught wiggling back and forth" issue I mentioned earlier can also sometimes? be fixed by just going into an open area and just waiting about 10-20 seconds. Sometimes hitting a zed will work but killing one with melee seems to always work.
- The early game is kinda grindy (I don't mind) and unlocking the workbench is a major milestone IMHO. Finally was able to get a bike and minibike (on same day) once workbench unlocked. Took me (single player) like ... errr 5 hordes (45 days?) to get to this point. Not accurately counting time yet as I have not crafted watch or compass yet. Crafting the map is kinda crucial as I have had to go back and forth to old far away bases for stuff, and migrate to other towns (which is fun for me, I needed to loot for magazines to make workbench).
- Around day 30? made it to the desert biome. Was not ready, is more dangerous. Basically able to craft ammo (arrows) in quantity to make desert "less of an issue" but I have to go there for mining so its kinda dangerous still.
- Have had to avoid several large hordes, even on day 45 (assuming that's the day) because I don't have enough ammo to take them all on while out and about. Can see them far enough away to avoid if paying attention.
- Building is very slow due to materials harvesting and weight of materials in backpack. Its kinda nice as I have to really think about what I want to build and still rely on POIs for cover. Making a mine "safe" against random zeds is much harder. Mine are not safe, I just have been lucky (hear noises and run out).
- Probably my greatest "this is a bit much" for singleplayer is mining ore (brass/lead) and smelting it and only being able to make a few bullets with it. Like: its a lot of effort to make bullets so far, with a forge still missing some tools. But I have enough melee/arrows/knife and bullets I loot to get by. In a way its nice to have to still swap out weapons and conserve vs "immediately and carelessly shoot everything i see". Making arrows is effortless enough, and I have a frying pan which is kinda OP (vs other melee) though I only have 1. gunpowder is very easy to come by in quantity once you can craft it, so "you can have many pipe bombs if not bullets" is nice.
- Have looted higher tier stuff than I can craft, which is nice, but its a little OP. I looted a fireman's axe and I can only craft basic scrap axe still. its not to bad though, I just have not needed to craft many basic weapons as I loot a lot.
- I love being able to pick more stuff up (and use barrels, etc) than vanilla. I like to make "realistic" bases.
- I feel gas (comparing to minibike) usage might need to be upped (so gas gets used up faster). seems that other things are very grindy/hard and then gas is super easy and plentiful if you can find it (before chem station/make my own gas I assume is possible then). I crafted the gas saver mod "just because" but I didn't need it.
TLDR: overall I feel the progression to get workbench is a bit more difficult than I imagined, as getting it means you can (finally) craft bike/minibike and travel a bit more, which is needed once you loot an entire town and run out of books. After that, it would be nice to craft a bit more brass/bullet tips per unit of brass/lead...like maybe 2x current amount? but maybe anvils solve that which I do not have yet.
Simply follow the instructions in this link and Afterlife should work fine. The download is 1.4 GB in size.

It takes allmost 4 day to make 1 glas of water.
And it sometimes drop water
This game has a very long "early game" grind, which makes survival quite a bit harder
I got trouble getting it to run. It gets stuck on the loading screen and what i can see from the logs it's caused by C# mods.
Is this with the native linux version broken in general?
I could use the windows version with proton, but i wonder if this then works on the server side when using a linux server?
