New overhaul out - Afterlife
Afterlife is designed to be an immersive, hardcore, survival overhaul that works with and supports cooperative multiplayer.
Here's a (non-comprehensive) list of some of the mod's features:
- Full "action skill" system- All attributes and skills are action skills. There are no traditional levels.
- All perks are new/custom.
- No time, compass, or map to start with. These items must be acquired,
- No traders or quests (for now; an alternative is being worked on).
- Vitality system. A "general well-being" resource that can be managed in many ways.
- Reworked biomes (forest and desert in particular).
- Reworked world lighting.
- Wasteland megacity (make sure you use RWG with the mod running).
- Several classes and class selection on game start.
- Custom equipment slots including torch, backpack, watch, map, and compass.
- 3 new tool/weapon tiers including scrap, bronze, and inconel,
- Izayo•s weapon packs, so lots and lots of guns (fully integrated with progression).
- IJI rework.
- 6 new •mineables",
- Forge heat system.
- Permanent infection (don't worry, it's manageable).
- Quantity/liquid storage system using glass jars as main item container.
- Weight + backpack capacity inventory system.
- "Dye Tub" enabling crafting of 512 different dye colours.
- "Cartography Table" for sharing map information with allies.
- "Training Dummy" for when you're too scared to go out at night.
- Improved rain effects.
- Some optimisations to try and squeeze a bit more FPS out of the game.
- Blueprint-based building system.
- Various QoL hotkeys (can be seen in-game in the vanilla "info panel").
- And lots of other stuff!
Please see the in-game credits to see what modders and artists made this mod possible.

Big fan so far (only a couple hours). It's kind of like Undead Legacy but simpler which is a good thing in its own. Biggest and best part that i have seen so far is the environment. Its really good. Seems more flushed out. When you are in the forest you know you are in a forest. It just started raining in game and the clouds look great. I thought my monitor wasn't working then i realized it was an effect of the rain. Have a lot of hours in 7 days to Die and this looks like it will be a top 3 overhaul for me if not the best. Now im off to figure out how to get large stone....

It was designed for 'discovery' so you wont find so much information, though there are books that will give you hints along way the in loot.

how does one get resin by the way?

Also is it a bug for one water to take 39 minutes to craft? seems excessive

The tutorial tells you - use a knife on a tree

No I think it's intentional - that's what caused me to stop playing the mod after some hours, way to much time spent boiling water. When you place a bucket and tarp into the campfire it halves that to 18mins but still too long,

balancing is still underway as it's still in early release. i'll let redbeard know about it. but generally, you're not meant to sit and wait for the craft, you go off and do other things. Theres also the raincatcher and distillery

The amount of time is a bit long. I would like to see it reduced a bit maybe but honestly it makes it more challenging. Based on what I'm seeing this is a survival mod where you need to balance alot of things especially food and water early game. Once you get rain collectors set up and a couple campfires with pots working at the same time you are good. But if you dont like the survival aspect early game this doesn't seem like the mod at the moment.

Only thing i dont like so far with about 20 hrs in is the zombification . Don't know the exact mechanic yet but if its permanent it would be cool if we can turn it off. Also not sure how the vitality system works. But as i said before the environment is so good and weather effects are great. Look forward to updates on this promising mod!
