Darkness Falls "The Reward" help
Is there any advice someone can give me that's beaten this mod on how to do this mission? I've attempted it 3 times and everytime i'm fleeing like a baby back to my base to restock and try again. Everytime I go there the zombies seem to be immediately alerted when I hit the button and shortly after for some reason a "wandering horde" or screamer who summons a horde shows up and i'm in deep ♥♥♥♥ and blow through ammo before I know it. I haven't even managed to get INSIDE the actual structure I just go down the well then a seemingly endless horde of zombies come bursting out as quickly as I can kill them.

I'm currently 40 days in and level 63(or somewhere around there) and my home base and horde night bases have been holding up perfectly fine and don't really need much more than reinforcing whenever I get the next level. I've got more ammo/food/meds than I know what to do with but can't really progress past this particular POI mission, I can't do the scouts missions because I keep having to kill demonic enemies which I currently am unable to handle (not enough damage resistance I guess cause they nuke me hard and take little damage)

The secret to The Bunker is that the zombies have spawners that will just keep spitting out more zombies until you destroy the spawner. Look for something on the floor in each room where they are appearing that could be doing this. Like... a body bag, maybe? Screamers will appear if you are generating noise with your weapons and this 'heat' is also raised by breaking items, wrenching things, etc. Silencers/suppressors are important and will even work with a shotgun. However, they are not perfect so EXPECT screamers and prepare for them before you go down the well. Junk turrets, spike traps ANYTHING that will take out a screamer before she sees you and can call in her brood of nasty will help.

I make a point of bringing a few cement blocks with me. Block that door and, once it's open, kill whatever is trying to get out to destroy you, and take out the above mentioned thingy. Do be aware, however, that those of us who know this place well and understand the mechanics usually take this opportunity to 'farm' the heck out of the place and, depending on ammo and the mayhem going on up above you, it can be very lucrative. However, first time there, kill them quickly and get inside and SHUT THE DOOR! That way, if any screamers and their bunch do get down the well, they are outside and, once you've cleared the Bunker, you can use another cement block to clear them out and nerd pole your way back up a certainly destroyed well.

So, you've made it inside and, find that there are even more zombies appearing! Take them out the same way, though, you won't have the block to keep them back. You will have room to move, though, so take advantage of that. Try very hard not to destroy any of the white desks or the black lockers in the bunker. They contain important loot that will help you progress in the game.

The last area, where you'll find the thing Eve sent you for, will be full of tough, mean soldiers and, perhaps even, a few demolishers. Kill them fast and/or get them OUT of that room, kite them into another area, and once they are done, the loot in that room is very good. You will find your mission objective and, once that is done, your only problem is getting back outside.

Have fun! And remember, you can always pick up the quest again if it fails, and keep trying.

EDIT: I forgot to add.. STOP DOING THE HIGHER TIER SCOUT MISSIONS! Choose lower level ones! Even tier 1 and 2 missions count toward her 100 missions you can do! Bang out 6 or 7 in a day and raise your trader faction at the same time!

Had no idea there was a spawner, explains why it seemed like no end to the tough lab zombies flooding out. Also I assumed I missed something since everytime I went I had a big flood of zombies outside the well, also your point about bringing blocks and turrets is a good one and something I need to learn to do more often. I usually go under prepared to places because im a loot goblin and want to take everything I find lol

Since you seem knowledgable on the mod another question for an issue i've run into. Where do you get any of the legendary items? I've gotten Taza's Bow/Spear (super low leveled) in a chest that was labeled Taza's chest or something similar but haven't seen a single other legendary item i'm level 72 now and on day 48 and have yet to run into any

You pray mightily to the RNG gods, though, I have found that, like Crom, they do not listen, at least, not to me. I've gone entire play throughs and only found one, usually the MSGT Porkins, though, that thing is a mighty boon before you get coil shotty. I've found others, from time to time, but in most cases, I've found them AFTER I start crafting coil. Higher gamestage/loot stage, higher difficulty may possibly affect it, but since my luck usually runs in other directions, I can't really say.

I play in a way that is the most fun for ME and don't cheat or cheese other than the occasional nerd pole to escape bears and the cement block I mentioned above. I also like breaking through walls and windows to get sneaky head shots on nasty stuff. I don't use commands other than the one that removes fog (cannot stand the fog) and tend to do just fine. I don't have a problem with the zombies and/or demons out-leveling my gear because I don't choose to play at silly high difficulty. Nomad difficulty is my sweet spot. I'm a girl so I don't have to prove anything to anyone, thankfully, and love to whack and stab and shoot zombies with minimum deaths involved (minimum being relative since I do tend to die a lot anyway). So, I cannot speak for loot stage or biome or difficulty or anything similar causing them to drop more often. I just play and have fun and hope for something cool to come along.

Yea i'm already at coil weapons and close to being able to start doing things with laser weapons. (Skill notes are a pain to get ahold of when you dont know where many crack a books are lol) shockingly I haven't died yet on warrior difficulty and this is my first playthrough of darkness falls. Wasn't planning to do a permadeath run when I started but if I can reach the end without dying that would be a nice personal achievement lol

EDIT: Shortly after typing this I blew myself up on accident with a pulse grenade..apparently you dont even have to pull the pin to set them off wellp so much for that idea LOL

Pulse Grenades are wonderful in the right circumstances. Like contact grenades, they are deadly to ME in my own hands, so, I'm very careful with them. However, they work well on demon regen and, like molotoves and such, the blast can travel through walls and doors. A bit of practice can mean life or death once you start encountering harder demons.

Coil weapons can melt normal zombie demon faces but, for the tougher ones, Behemoths and Titans and above, getting that regen under control is pretty important. Even without the regen removal, they are possible if you're one-v-one and if you're using the right weapon, mods, and ammo. Having a laser weapon, legendary weapon, or laser sword or the appropriate mod will really help against the higher demons, turning off their regen long enough for you to do significant damage, but, my knowledge for that comes from the dev builds before this latest stable release. I've not gotten high enough in this play through to encounter his new models so... we shall see.

I'm glad you're doing so well! I love DF and that makes it hard to do vanilla, but all the overhaul mods are great in their own right. I do permadeath in vanilla, but NOT in Darkness Falls. I'd never get very far.. heh.

You got the best advice from the best DF player.

It’s definitely gonna be hard to go back to vanilla after this play through hopefully there’s enough modlets to make my own version of darkness falls, I do have a mod for zombies that I kinda miss since the zombies in DF are kinda meh and not much variety.
