If that is not the issue, then take a look at the messages when the game loads. Press F1 for the console and scroll up the window to the start. Near the top should be messages about trying to load mods. Are there any errors?
Edit: trying to make folder structure easier to see. > means subdirectory level
Basically, it goes like this.
You create a folder in the game directory called 'Mods'.
Download a mod, which is usually in a zip format.
Unzip (extract) the file and you now have a folder I'll call 'Name of Mod"
Move the "Name of Mod' folder to the 'Mods' folder you created in the game directory
Thats it.
Vortex only works with Mods that are set to work with Vortex as it requires folders in folders were as normal Modlets are just the folder which then goes into the Mods folder... Id take a look inside & remove the duplicate folders which is probably whats wrong, also id stop using Vortex & just learn the basics on how mods work... there not as hard to understand as youd think....
Modlets are the modlets folder IE SuperFire, inside that youll see a configs folder & a mods info xml....thats what is called a Modlet... That is placed as so....
C:\Users\Urname\AppData\Roaming\7DaysToDie\Mods\SuperFire\
If you have this it will not work....
C:\Users\Urname\AppData\Roaming\7DaysToDie\Mods\SuperFire\SuperFire
be sure the actual mod files are not nested too deep. Unzipping / extracting files a lot of times creates duplicate folders nested within one another. That results in the files being nested too deep and not read by the game / app. When using 7zip, there's an option you can check which tells it to NOT create duplicate folders... like War3zuk's example... \SuperFire\SuperFire\... 7zip would have kept it extracted as just \SuperFire\ with the files in that parent directory folder. But, self extracting files don't have that option so, you just have to be sure it doesn't happen... deleting the extra nested folder after moving the files up to the parent directory.
