Jason Voorhees broke into my hidout base.....
My lovely encouter with Mr. Jason was outstanding!

I had set up my base in Mansion house with pool and has the second floor. I broke the stairs and ran wood frames out the 2nd floor window. Luckily I had completed my 7 day hourde tower in the street in front of the house and it had connecting wood frames going to the house. After this hard work today I went out into the area looting and came across Creepy Jason chasing all the nusiance zombies and slashing them. That was my red flag right there.....

So I thought I can sneak damage shoot him I am far far away watching his antics. No big deal right? Well that was a mistake let me tell you! Dude just kept getting shot and kept coming at me (talk about flashbacks to the movie of Jason not dying)

Well I ran and ran to my tower in front of my hideout base. I was able to be up above him and he could not reach me. Mr Crazy played peekeboo with me darting around so I couldnt see him or shoot him for a while then he used his machette to chop into my base. I could not see him and wondered did he just spawn out or die in my kitchen? Where did creepy dude go? I almost came on here to ask for help because I was afraid to go into my hideout!!

I finally got the balls and went inside and down to the first floor. He wasn't in living room, wasn't in the kitchen. So I went towards the bottom bedroom bathroom area to see him standing in the dang bathtub!!! Are you kidding ME! He growled and I ran! Another hour later with dark coming I figured just dump my good toolbelt stuff and let dude take me out. Suprisingly I shot him in the face and he died?

I just started playing the modded overhaul only 3 days ago and todays frightening expercience was awesome!

I am guessing this is Valmod, Overhaul? By chance did you have the classic head shot overlay, also? If so, body shots do very little - most of the time headshots are the only way to go. Some of Valmar's "special" zombies can even take several head shots.

Nice to hear he was attacking other zombies. I think Valmar was hoping that might happen (or hoping it would not, can't remember which of us was advocating which result : )

Did you get the "normal" machete or the "legendary" one?

Loki I downloaded the overhaul version and enjoying it very much. During his attacking of the zombies I was able to get a few head shots and during the run back to my tower another head shot.

I am really intrigued by the actions of this character Jason compared to the basic non intelligent regular 7 days zombies. The calculated actions Jason was making hiding, ducking, breaking into the outpost and then standing in the bathtub? Either the modding added something to his character or I have just watched to many Jason movies over the years! LOL

I did get the Legendary machete but I was disappointed because the health was almost gone on it. On the outpost mansion I had removed the door and put upgraded wood frames. So maybe chopping down those frames with a machete lowered the health.

Well, I don't think Valmar did anything to buff the AI - so it might just be too many movies <LOL>

The loot item is keyed to your level / scavenging skill, but legendary has a couple nice features - it does a lot more damage than a standard vanilla machete of the same ql and it can be repaired without having the ability to craft a machete (Valmar intended this to be the case - so just use a whetstone and repair that sucker and then go hunting a few of the camper zombies : )

The machete he drops is not actually the one he was using. The degradation is just part of the RNG Jesus. Quality Joe I think exists solely to combat that, though Im not certain. Still you should be able to repair it easily enough with some whetstone.

Also, thanks for sharing your Jason encounter. I get a real kick out of these. :)

LOL this is a great share, I enjoyed the Voorhees encounter story a lot. Would you make a standalone version of this Valmar? I'd kindly like to see how this plays out for others, including myself. Get hunted by Jason for your chance at a signature series JV machete lol. Thank you for sharing your experiences and time =)

He's a tad more complicated to add than normal zombies if you want my specific setup. It involves unique groups and spawners. Though if you want want Jason to add to a normal group, here is the code for Jason himself:

Entityclass:

Archetype:
http://pastebin.com/ZWMW4qhk

The code is just the bare minimum. He doesn't have his unique machete, he doesn't drop loot, he isn't assigned to any groups. That stuff will have to be done the modder if they want it.

When i first saw this posting I thought this was a pretty cool story but where did he get the mod from? I assume it was some sort of Valmod sub mod I had overlooked. I'm a big fan of Valmod and had been using the older version when I noticed he had an updated version with an expanded backpack. I told my friend lets restart our campaign using this new version and we did using the Navezone map. For the first two weeks we survived without a single death despite my friend accidently collapsing the roof of our hideout cave on our first horde night (but I had a backup tower) and with limited weapons since we could only find 9mms and rocket launchers (which we didnt want to use and blow up our base area).

After our 2nd horde night successful defense we decided to hit the shotgun Messiah in the snow biome to get much needed weapons since our current ones were wearing out, they were our starter classes weapons with my friend having the bolt rifle and I the 44 magnum. Now I had mentioned to my friend about Zombiekillingmom's story about Jason when we first started out on this map but like I said I thought it was some special mod I had overlooked. I did noticed the new zombies Valmar had put in which were pretty cool and so when my friend announce hold on he seen a new zombie he hadn't seen before and it was carrying something I thought it might be a new lumberjack zombie carrying an axe or something. I was a little aways ahead of my friend and across the road from him when he said to hold on he wanted to check it out. I then spotted a "zombie" walking toward him carrying something upright in his hand and didnt know what it was. I hadn't seen a "zombie" like this before and it didnt walk like a normal zombie either. Well my friend shot it in the head and it went down so my friend approached to scavange it. As I started heading over I lost sight of both of em in the shrubbery and then heard my friend say "oh #@$@ he's still alive and just killed me with two blows." I then saw this "zombie" stomping over to me in a fast gait and as he got closer I realized this must be the Jason Voorhees I've heard about. I immediately started backpedaling while whipping out my 44 and unloading into him...bam..bam..bam (I'm reloading), bam...bam...bam (I'm reloading).. .bam...bam...bam. Now mind you I was a bit nervous and unloading on him quick and not taking my usual carefully controlled aim since he was coming at me so fast but after 18 rounds of 44 magnum some Im sure may have missed or only body shots he finally went down. I didnt make my friend mistake and approach him to see if he was dead instead I ran back to our base and met up with my friend who had respawned and then we went back to get his bag. Along the way I found Jason's body and he was indeed dead with a yellow quality machete on him. Well that was an interesting encounter and we both wonder when he would respawned again.

Well we got some new weapon parts from Messiah (but still not yet 44 magnum ones) and went back to our first starter house where we stayed our first few days to pick up items we left stored there earlier. Since it was getting late we stayed the night there before heading back to our main home. The next morning we decided to go for an air drop that we couldnt get to the day before which had landed south of the corn farm, As we passed the farm zombies started coming at us and I started shooting them with my bow and my friend took a knee and started blasting away with his bolt rifle. I then heard my friend exclaim Jason had just spawn out of the ground in front of him and with two whacks killed him. Sure enough I look over to where I last seen my friend and there was Jason stomping over my way with murder in his heart. I switched back to my 44 and with more carefully controlled shots put him down again with about 5-6 bullets. I found a blue quality machete on him this time. So I waited for my friend to respawn and come back to get his pack while I fought off the remaining farm zombies. Thinking okay that was the 2nd time we encountered Jason within two days his spawn rate must be about once a day. Well when my friend came back we finished recovering the air drop and started heading back to our home base. I was running a little ways ahead of my friend (I had better staminia) when I heard my friend exclaim "Jason is behind you!" The first thing I did was continue running even faster forward a little ways before turning around with a newly found shotgun in my hands. There indeed was Jason Voorhees about 25 yards away and closing in on me. My friend from a distance shot him with his bolt action and I saw blood splatter come of his head so I knew it was a head shot. Jason turn around and started after my friend who promptly high tailed it away from him so I switched to my 44 and shot him in the body (about 50 yards away) and brought his attention back on my person. With a little distance now between us I took careful head shots with the 44 and dropped him after only 3 shots (plus my friend's good head shot and my one body shot). I found an even better blue quality machete when I looted him. I told my friend if he could die a couple more times we might be able to loot a legendary machete off him but my friend wasnt game for that.

We finally got back to our base without further incident but now we're both nervous especially me since I been trying to avoid dying at all costs. I've taken to ensure all the dark places in our abode are well lighted with candles (remembering ZKM's bathtub incident) so there be no Jason lurking in the shadows and when I go out foraging/scavaging which I usually did solo I now ask my friend to come along. I've taken to fearing the day as much as the night now (and currently afraid to continue my single player game) and wonder how much longer my 44 will last so my hat is off to you Valmar for making this game even more exhilarating and intense then it was before.

I love these stories guys, thank you so much for sharing. Its very entertaining to hear others encounters with the infamous Jason.

Interesting tip: Jason will actually target zombies. So if you're heading to a hub city it might be a neat idea to get him to tail behind you. If you can lure him into the hub city he and the zombies will have a battle royal. Meanwhile you can use the distraction to rummage through loot.
