Theres nothing to fix as nothing is broken.
If you want to be level 40 by day 7, use console commands.
As to the current system, if you build the appropriate tool skills, your avatar gets better at it and in the long run, you can harvest MORE than in A15 and craft just as well as before. The difference is you are more limited in early game unless you use "cheats" as was mentioned.
I would like to mention that this new system is how the devs are planning to go forward. There will be tweaks and such, but I don't think it will revert back to the previous way of things especially on the crafting side of things. You'll had to make your changes 'every time' the devs make even the slightest tweak to those files. Not to mention, it might isolate you and your friends from being able to play with others outside your group.
You can also expect more major changes in which will require complete restarts. It is inevitable. It might be awhile, but it will come again.
Anyways... Good luck!
So basically you spent time and effort to build an elaborate sandcastle on the beach and are getting upset cuz the tide will come in and wipe it out ?
Did you nor your freinds realize this was a WIP/EA/always changing ?
And were being ♥♥♥♥♥ ...............
I havent commented on the way you play being wrong, nor have i said how you should play the game. Yet you seemto think its perfectly normal to do that towards me. Honestly its just shoving your opinion down my throat at this point.
Start crafting a level 10 axe. Spam craft can take it to lvl 25. To unlock 25-50 buy a perk, craft 25-50, unlock 50-100 buy a perk, craft from 50 till you can craft at 100, then you need to buy another perk.
It would give the more natural feel as well as being gated by the idea you have to concentrate Skill Points to the task to be able to achieve the next level of mastery.
I just haven't had the time to do such for my own games yet.
Note: I never spam crafted in 15. I simply craft what I needed when I needed (usually instead of repairing). I just like the feel and idea of skill getting better the magic bumps for spending skill points is a bit too artificial for me. I'd rather it level, then be locked at the peak until I buy the next perk. It would still gate spam crafting like the current system but give the natural progression feel of the old system.
Note: I removed a lot of unnecessary
