Change the game files to allow more Land Claim Blocks
Is there a way to go into the game files to change the number of active land claim blocks I can have, or the size of the claim?

Details:

- 2 player shared base with my friend
- Navezgane Corrections building
- need 4 blocks to claim the whole thing
- limit is 3
- haven't seen a way to do it in settings
- tried setting deadzone to 0 and having my friend place 2 of them, we are partied/allies, still won't let him.
- claim already set to 71 blocks max

This is a hosted game on your PC or a server? Khaine has a mod for Max Animals/Zombies and Claim blocks at https://community.7daystodie.com/topic/32007-khaines-a21-modlets-bigger-backpacks-lockable-slots-behemoths-random-wandering-hordes-etc/ which adds options to the game settings pages. You could ignore the zombies and animals part.

I've never figured out how to make more *active* land claims. You could alter a registry entry via regedit so you can put down 100 of them, or probably 1000 if you felt like it, but they wouldn't be active - I used to do that just to use them as visible map markers, since the game still only lets you have six or eight map notes or whatever.

But if you're SP or are the host (vs. playing on someone else's server) you should be able edit a config. to increase the protected area size. I would assume whoever is acting as host would have to do it, or maybe both, or er, yeah don't know. But could try and see.

Search for LandClaimSize
Alter one of those numbers to be bigger. To be safe and since all the default options do it, I'd still have it end in a one, like 91, or 121. It's then visible as a selectable option in the MP options menu in game. Don't forget if you make LCB size a lot bigger, you'll have to place it physically farther away from a Trader.

is there a way to have more than 1 claim block active at a time?

In A20 and previous you could have more than one land claim by changing a setting in the registry and the extra LCBs would allow you to pick up workstations, but only the first one placed would stop zombie sleeper respawns. In A21 you can by default have 3 LCBs and all will show as active (I assume they stop zombie sleeper respawns). You can change this to higher values. I've had it at 5 and had 5 active land claims. I don't know if there is a limit.

The registry key is Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\The Fun Pimps\7 Days To Die\LandClaimCount_h3672927595

^ I've had that registry entry at 60 allowed since A20. I tried just now to put down 10 LCB - they all still say "active". But I have not tested whether this is actually functionally true (as in, not allowing sleeper respawns) now or if it's still like A20 and only the first (now three) would do the sleeper respawn prevention..

Further testing required.

Edit: I haven't messed with LCB's much in A21 since I prefer to alter bedroll max size instead, re: respawns, even if it means chickens/rabbits etc. spawn further away.

I placed 1 LCB for my workstation base. When I placed the second for my bloodmoon base, the first one I placed went inactive. Am I doing something incorrectly? Do I need to change a setting or alter a file? (this is in multi-player with a couple of friends)

^ Run game showing launcher, pick Tools tab, pick Open Settings.
Look for that LCB line. See if it says 1 or 3. I think I did see someone else post that for some reason their A21 was still set to 1. Dunno tho.

Notes for A21 says "Adjust default land claim count to 3", It does not seem to work in My single player game, maybe its only for Multiplayer ?.

It's for single player too. CatPerson's post just above yours shows an easy way to get to the registry entries for the game. Find LandClaimCount_h3672927595 and change it to a 3.

A lot of people have had problems with the game only allowing 1 LCB. I don't know if the game is supposed to automatically update this from the old value, or if we were expected to do a "clean data" but that wasn't mentioned in the A21 announcement.

Yes, that should do it. It really is that easy.
