Shotguns
So I just started using shotguns and noticed...... that even the shotgun shells, act like slugs, there is no spread at all, the pellets all hit dead center where you aim at....

<passive_effect name="RoundRayCount" operation="base_set" value="10" tags="perkBoomstick"/>
<passive_effect name="MaxRange" operation="base_set" value="10" tags="perkBoomstick"/>

So I presume the shotguns got a "buff"?

10 blocks of range, but 10 pellets that all hit dead center? I remember shooting shotguns before, and they'd be literal scatterguns, 8 or more pellets going all over the place, literally everywhere, if you shot with a shotgun on hordenight, all the ground blocks around your base were damaged or even torn up.

I mean, I am fine with this, but 10 blocks range is a bit measly.

There are mods that simulate different chokes on the shotgun. The duckbill choke will increase side spread, making it a long sideways oval. Almost means less damage on a single target, so while I can hit multiples at once, some of them take way less damage then others.

Yeah no point in using mods that make it worse when you can just headshot everything in sight. Not to mention what do you do when the demo runs up. Cant stop and take mods off lol.

Good Magnum or Sniper Rifle is all I really need, setup a kill tunnel with electric cables and just headshot everything, 1 to 2 hits kills just about anything.

I am using the vulture with a silencer and extra mag mod and radiation mod, and red dot sight. think its 147 hit points and looks cool, and works well, been doing horde nights pretty much with that and the traps, also great for sniping while clearing buildings.

I don't like the collateral damage of shotguns. I've ruined too much good loot behind my target.

I felt the same way.
but when i realized that an automatic shotgun is a demolition tool...

I visit a wooden house in the neighborhood. shoot me across the house in 30 seconds, walls, doors, ceilings, floors. And when the neighbors are awake I'll wait for them outside with the mp5 or m60, whatever. Then I either loot the house completely or just the main loot.

Then I'll knock on the next door with my shotgun...
