Where are the pots

So far we are 3 + days into the game and there has not been a pot anywhere. Would be nice to be able to boil water instead of catching dysentery.

If you can't find a pot then sell some of your loot or do missions to earn some Dukes. Either buy a pot from a trader or buy water or other drinks from the traders or vending machines until you find a pot.

And restaurant or diner type places. Theres a taco stnd that usually has them too.

My usual go to at the start of a game are the food trailers (next to a shop and some newspaper bins). Aside from that restaurant kitchens seem to spawn more than residential.

This and any "kitchen cabinet" (the same model is used but it doesn't seem to have POI or area specific loot tables) you come across has a chance to spawn one.

Or try to make a forge and craft one yourself (it's like...40 iron in the forge and you are golden).
I found my first pot solo on day 4 but could craft one already on the beginning of day 2 with my forge.

This is not first post asking about this.
This isnt issue about pots... its issue about LOOTABLE pots.

In my own playthrue i didnt find lootable pot until i progressed all the way into desert (i play on insane/75% loot, but still...), and yes, i am well aware of where they can spawn (or that i can craft/buy) after nearly 1k hours ingame.

The issue here is that they become way too rare with new update and only way to get them early seems to by just buying them - or craft if you have increased loot to get lotta books fast (finding +-20 crafting stations to get enough books for forge is impossible on day 1 when ya start with like 1 water bottle and i dont think i ever found forge ahead in mailbox).

In previous versions, i always found LOOTABLE pot in first few days, but since new version, i am on 4th savegame, and every time i only started finding them at lootstage 80+ which is stupid, because theres no need for them at that stage.... by then, i alredy bough it.

The only consistent way of getting pot early is just scrap all the polymers to sell and buy it.

I don't think I have ever seen a pot, excluding mines that weren't lootable.

First day, cut some wood, make a log. Hit up the trader, find the work stations, read 4 forge ahead magazines. Dig some dirt/clay, hit some stone, make cobblestone. Hit some toilets and sinks, get some pipe. find a diners and hit the seats to get leather. Loot some glue then duct tape. Mine some iron ore. Make a forge smelt the iron and clay. make a pot.

They changed it for 1.0 BTW. I knew exactly what POI I go for (small trailer POI in the towns)
walked through the door and was a pile of food. Bobs Boars always had a guaranteed cooking pot, went through it for the first time in 1.0, was a lootable purse. Food Trailers in city shopping districts? Same thing: food pile or trash pile

TFPs seem to have realized that the min-maxers know where to get a guaranteed cooking pont and changed it to RNG. They MAY be there, but its no longer all the time.

I've seen lootable cooking pots in several POI's, just sitting on counters or tables or shelves but yeah they don't seem to be the same ones as before - and I don't think I found them yet in the zero or 1 skull buildings. Not saying there are no pots in such POI's, it's just not where I chanced on them. I should say when I found most of those pots, I already had forge/made pots so I didn't need them.

The knowledge of "what POI has a guaranteed" pot has probably just changed. Wouldn't surprise me if there are still some - just not the same ones, and maybe not any easy early ones. Dunno tho, haven't tried to really look into that. I usually end up with a forge pretty fast.

There's also that RNG--lady luck--factor that plays into it. Sometimes you just get bad runs of luck. I've started up a world + save before and couldn't find a cooking pot for the life of me within the first 5 game days. Then I've had starts that I got lucky and found a pot in the first house I went to. Gotta love the ol' chance dice roll of this game, lol.

I've started eight new games in 1.0 exp with differing settings and different random generated maps. OP is right... in all cases but one, I was able to make a forge and cook up my own pot and grill LONG before I ever found one. The one I did find was in a Tier 3 POI, something a very new player would, perhaps, not have ventured into, but that I was experienced enough to survive. It's not a perfect change by a long shot.
