MP Green arrow friend icon stopped showing

The server I am running seems to have stopped showing the green friend icons on the map. The map screen still shows my list of friends and I can track them using the compass yet they don't show up on the actual map even if I am close to them.

Interestingly all my friends who join do not have the problem. There has been time when I run the server and the icons show, but it is rare and few between.

What do I need to do to continue to show my friends on the map?

Whenever my friends re-join on my private server (or sometimes if I die) I have to delete them from my map friends and re-invite them (or they invite me) then accept then track them. I don't know why it does that and it's annoying but try that when you can't see them.

could be, it's an annoyance but not too big of a deal if you remember every time
