Filling a moat with water...
So we've got a nice moat around our base, and i've been trying my damndest to get a nice swimmingpool going for the zedheads at the bottomhalf of it (using the trusty buckets).. But i simply can't seem to get water to do more than barely coat the very bottom?

Is this per design or is there some nice trick to it in order to get some actual depth going?

With the info i have, you cant do it anymore, there was an exploit to have unlimited water source everywhere players desire, so, tfp patched it.

If not, and i am wrong, try to drop the water from the sides of the pool.

Using buckets would take a lifetime.
Just use waterblocks from the creative menu. I won't tell anyone. ;)

It used to be possible to divert existing natural water sources, so if there's a river nearby you could try digging a leat to fill the moat. As long as the moat is downhill from the river, since we don't have pumps.

I don't know if it will works, but it did work a couple of alphas ago.
Or, you could use creative mode and fill with water that way.... at least, we used to be able to. Can't confirm that's still a thing or not.

What I said above. And yeah, still works. ;)
Never tried with the block replacement tool though, only used water blocks.
