Is The New Biome Update Going to Require A New Game?
Just started a new Navezgane game since I figured it's been a couple years since I've played, but just suddenly got the news about this new weather and biome update coming.

Is that gonna require a new save game or will the world retroactively update?

Thanks.

Probably
the up coming update will be for beta opt ins frist then after that it will go to stable.

you can disable auto update for the game if you want to keep playing in the current game

I understand that, but I'd rather play with the latest when it releases! I just want to ensure I don't dedicate too much to a playthrough if I need to wait a bit.

Major updates are denoted by going up a whole number and normally brake saves. changes in version numbers that are decimals dont normally brake saves.
With the way this games mega updates have so far always worked, if you want to see/get all the new "content" and features, yes, you'd need a new save. It's possible you could keep loading/playing an older save but if you want to be "current" all the time, then yes.

If you like downloading/using big overhaul mods (not just a few xml tweaks) that could extend any wait while waiting for them to update their mods So I wouldn't go there right this second.

The rest simply depends, probably, on how much time you personally have/are willing to play games (4 hrs a week? 10 hrs a week? 30 hrs a week? Retired/all the time you want, etc), and whether you tend to get bored of a save/chr fairly quickly (20-30 hrs say) or like to play the same map/chr for a hundred plus hours.

That's fair. Damn, looks like I chose a great time to get back invested.

I'm patient in any case, love to see that they're still adding to this!

Guess I'll see y'all in the next version!
