Leather Challenge?

Most of the new "Challenges" in the game are okay, completed in the course of the game, or if you actively pay a little attention for a couple of minutes.

Two are very specific, though.

One has you gather Forged Steel from street lights. Using tracking, I managed to complete that one, and it turns out it's a bit more flexible than the text says (including being able to use a Wrench, if some people are wondering), although also with noob trap elements in it, as it suggested I try harvesting from some Vending Machines. I believe I know that that's a bad idea.

One is still left, no progress: harvest Leather. I'm tracking but not seeing any UI markers. I'm worried it'll only be in big high-tier PoIs.

As soon as I get the Leather in the very specific way the game wants me to, I'll have completed another row of Challenges, so will get something nice before the day 21 Horde.

Any tips?

does the challenge have any specific stipulations? If it's just harvesting leather with no strings attached:

start with leather couches and chairs in nearly any house. Seating and booths in most restaurants, bars and fastfood joints too.

That depends. If the vending machine is working, it's a bad idea (you'll get shocked). If the vending machine isn't working, it's a good idea.

IIRC the leather challenge is for scavving leather from restaurant seating with a stone axe. So you need restaurants, diners, cafes or bars. Not high tier POIs.

You can harvest leather from chairs and sofas too. There's no limit to what seating the leather comes from.

Yeah, once I found a couple of homes that had leather couches, it was pretty fast.
