What exactly does encumbered do?
When you are carrying too much and you get the encumbered debuff, what does it actually do? Do you recover stamina slower? If so, how much slower? Does it depend on how encumbered you are? Do you run slower? Do you walk slower? Is your jump height reduced? If so, by how much? Do you attack slower? Do you recover from stunned slower?

What EXACLTY does encumbered do?

Thanks for anybody that can provide info. I googled and checked the wiki but only found extremely vague and generic info. Was not able to find detailed info.

Yeah that wiki entry isn't very useful is it.

I don't have reliable numbers for you, but in my experience Encumbrance is about 1-2% mobility penalty per item, so you'll really start to walk and run slower after about 10 Encumbrance. Jump height seems unaffected to me, but you'd move slower while you're in the air so I don't think you can jump as far. I've noticed no other effects.
What Brevan said. I've only noticed a slowed walk/run pace and eventually a lessened jump distance (horizontal-ish length, not sure about numerical blocks height). If you're using a mod that increases number of inventory slots by absurd amounts, without all the extra slot perks/mods, you can eventually be so encumbered you literally can't take a step anymore/locked in place, haha.

In the buffs.xml there's an entry that seems to have a formula along with a bunch of other references but I don't know what it means/how to interpret it into more relatable one, two, whatever percent slower etc. Maybe someone else does.

<!-- *** buffEncumberedInv --> -----(snip) <triggered_effect trigger="onSelfBuffUpdate" action="ModifyCVar" cvar="$encumbranceEffect" operation="multiply" value="0.026"/> <!--0.026% X 27 = 0.70--> ---(snip) <passive_effect name="Mobility" operation="perc_subtract" value="@$encumbranceEffect"/> <!--<passive_effect name="JumpStrength" operation="perc_subtract" value="@$encumbranceEffect"/>

In the past (A20) I know it also affected jump height. So, if you could normally jump up to reach a ladder that was 3 blocks up, you wouldn't be able to if encumbered... falling about half a block height short of it. Ofc, these were of the height you normally had to run and jump to it to reach in the first place. So, it could be just the run part that you lose the extra little bit of height on causing the issue?
