Same as with Everyone Else - Politics...
--------
It probably has to due with several factors:
* Enemy State (Normal, Feral, Screamer Horde, Wandering Horde, etc.)
* Is Enemy in Area Destroy Mode
* Is Enemy Hungry (Animal or Zombie)
* With a Healthy dose of RNG thrown in for good measure.
The only way to be "sure" would be to dig around in the .xml files (if it's even there).
I don't think that's it cause it goes both ways. Zombies attack animals first too.
For example:
One time i see a Lumberjack sprinting/shufling from across the forest just to slap a cougar in the face.
Other times i see Lumberjack and coguar walking side by side like it's his pet.
So it can't be just cone of vision.
What i've learned is that the animals have a "non agro" timer after killing a zombie. Even if i keep a zombie next to it after it killed another one it won't attack again for at least a minute, maybe two.
Zombie animals do not attack zombies, and also they are not triggered by stones. Which sucks because it means you have no way to move them away or distract them at night, or in the wasteland.
Wish we could feed a wild animals meat, or zombies, to heal them, so i could trap a bear and keep it as a guard dog at my base.
Hmm interesting.
On side note I'm doing something similar lately. Snow map with Wasteland in middle surrounded by burnt forest (custom biome layout via painting it in the biomes.png after generating the map properly)
Kind of a "Ground Zero/Nuclear Winter" vibe.
Yea customly painting biome layouts is pretty easy. After you generate map for the first time (don't start it yet, just save it - That's important cause once you launch the map the biomes are pernamently baked into it and altering the biomes.png will just cause weirdness)
Exit the game and navigate to:
User/AppData/Roaming/7DeaysToDie/GeneratedWorlds/<Your Generated Map Name>
And look for biomes.png image file.
Open it with paint , gimp or whatever painting sofware you have that and paint the colors corresponding to each of the 5 biomes in any way you want.
Save the image file. Launch the game and join your map and enjoy new biome layout.
This is useful for things like if you want a single biome map that includes all types traders on it.
thanks a bunch
Thank you for the info, I just did that and I had fun to create an all ice biome with central wastland spot surounded with thin burned forest, For transition from burned to ice I added some spray layer. Quite fun. Why this is not the part of the editor, instead of the forced minimal amount of biomes.
Also shame that the temperature does nothing in comparison to las verison. I loved full winter biomes where I had to deal with freezing.
Yea it's nice that this is still possible to do.
As for freezing it's a shame.
Maybe it will return when they eventually get to reworking the weather like it's planned on the roadmap.
