Will shooting a demolisher with an arrow set him off?

I know shooting him in the chest with bullets will do it, but what about arrows?

yes it will if you hit them in the correct area. Stone arrows can indeed set them off.

At least they could in A19 have not had my game stage high enough to see one A20 yet so haven't tested this Alpha but they used to yes

I know punching him with a fist in the correct area will trigger the explosives. So I strongly suspect an arrow is not special.

(yes I fight them with fists.)

I wasn't able to sprint far enough away after meleeing him in the button. How do you do it? I knew I had at least 6 meters distance on him but insta-died after that...

Hmm, maybe something has you slowed down a lot? Inventory maybe? Or maybe you aren't reacting fast enough (no offence intended)? I'm not sure. The timer is 2 seconds, and the explosion radius is 6 blocks. Even in full 5 piece steel armor with no buffs I can run about 14m in 2 seconds.

Dunno, I've been doing it regularly since A19. I didn't really think much of it. I use them as bombs to explode rest of the horde, lol.

Couldn't you just test this yourself?

Start a new game with cheats enabled, give yourself a bow and arrows, spawn in a demolisher in daylight so he moves slow, and shoot him??
